Southwoods Health wraps up record-breaking mammography screenings during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

BOARDMAN — Southwoods Health is proud to announce this October marked a record-breaking month for mammography screenings during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Southwoods Center for Breast Health continues to lead the Valley in mammography screenings through early detection, timely treatment and exceptional patient care.

Since opening in 2016, the Southwoods Center for Breast Health has helped preserve hundreds of thousands of life’s most precious moments. With a steadfast commitment to advanced technology, accuracy, patient comfort and rapid turnaround — from diagnosis to treatment in days, not weeks — Southwoods consistently outperforms the national average of four weeks and has earned its reputation as the region’s most trusted leader in breast health.

Looking ahead, Southwoods is bringing the same level of comprehensive breast health care to Trumbull County in 2026.

“Included in our expansion project at our Howland Imaging Center is a Trumbull County-dedicated Center for Breast Health,” said Ed Muransky, Southwoods Health CEO. “It will mirror our Boardman Center for Breast Health with state-of-the-art technology and the same compassionate care you’ve come to expect from every Southwoods facility.”

Southwoods extends a heartfelt thank you to all patients who made their health a priority this year. By taking time to schedule a mammogram, patients not only protect themselves — they help spread a vital message: Mammograms save lives and protect life’s most important moments.

“While October shines a spotlight on breast cancer awareness, our work doesn’t stop there,” Muransky added. “We want to remind every woman in our community about the importance of regular breast cancer screenings. Don’t let this end with October — schedule your mammogram today.”

To schedule your mammogram in Boardman or Howland, call 330-965-5110. To learn more about the Southwoods Center for Breast Health, visit SouthwoodsHealth.com.
