The guest speaker is Sister Valerie Luckey, OSB, who will present “Conversion of Heart in a Suffering Society.” Luckey is a Benedictine Sister of Erie and the director of Emmaus Ministries, the Benedictine outreach to Erie’s poor. There will be an opportunity for participants’ questions following the talk. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. with the presentation beginning at noon. The cost is $25. Bonnar will offer a blessing and engage with attendees.

The Catholic Church declares a “Jubilee Year” every 25 years as a special time of grace, forgiveness and spiritual renewal. The theme of the 2025 Jubilee Year is “Pilgrims of Hope.”

GOLD MASS: The Diocese of Youngstown will host the third annual Gold Mass Celebration Dinner to follow Mass Nov. 23. All parish directors, musicians and anyone involved in liturgical music within the Diocese of Youngstown are invited. A concert featuring choral and instrumental music will begin at 3:45 p.m., followed by the Mass at 5 p.m. at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., Youngstown. ESTHER CIRCLE HELPS: The Esther Circle of Central Christian Church chose The Trumbull County Society of St. Vincent de Paul as its winter fundraising project in an effort to assist the local population in need. The Esther Circle went on a tour through the society’s three buildings at 2431 Niles Road. The Esther Circle is a group of ladies that meet monthly to raise and disperse funds from the church in the area, which was founded in 1803. Now in its 95th year of operation, the society maintains four pantries, has the assistance of more than 200 volunteers daily, personal and private and business donations, and grants, without the assistance of federal or state funding.

PRAYING WITH COLOR: Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will offer Praying with Color 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 1. Praying with Color is a way to pray for others and ourselves and use scripture. It is a way to “see” our prayer. No artistic skill or prayer expertise is needed. Paulette Kirschensteiner, HM, CZT, leads retreats incorporating art and prayer. Cost is $65, which includes the program, lunch and refreshments. PROGRAM SET: Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will offer a one-day presentation with Ilia Delio, noted author and lecturer, titled “The Christic Self: What it is and Why it Matters.” This special presentation will take place 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 15. The talk will explore Teilhard de Chardin’s notion of the Christic self, looking at its formation, significance, and the bigger question of whether the Christic self makes a difference to world evolution.

FALL FEST: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Campus of St. Pope John the XXIII Parish will host a fall festival Saturday in the social hall, 29 Erie St., Niles. An arts and craft show will run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. under the large tent. Summer festival food will be served 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m. inside the social hall. Youngstown’s Total Package Band will perform 6 to 10 p.m. under the band tent.

REUNION CELEBRATION: St. Mark Victory Lutheran Church, 280 Mill Creek Drive, Youngstown, will host a reunion celebration 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Hosea Ekong, former pastor of Victory Lutheran Church, is preaching the sermon, and the Rev. Robert Wacker of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Warren is conducting the liturgy. HUMAN TRAFFICKING: A human trafficking awareness seminar will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 21 at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 851 Niles Cortland Road NE. The event is free to the public, with guest speakers who will discuss recognizing the signs of trafficking, resources for victims and families, local and national efforts to combat trafficking and how people can help.

The event highlights how essential those involved in the judicial and legal professions are for the common good. There is a cost for the luncheon and registration is required. ROSARY RALLY: The 10th annual Greater Youngstown Area public square rosary rally will be Saturday at the Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Eucharistic adoration and confession will take place 11 to 11:50 a.m. Mass is at noon and public recitation of the rosary begins at 12:30 p.m. Participants will pray the rosary in solidarity with 20,000 other rallies taking place across the country.

WORKING WOMEN: The Willing Working Women of Progressive Baptist Church, 2258 Colonial Ave. SE, Warren, will host Proudly Praising in Pink, a worship service and luncheon, to boost breast cancer awareness, prevention, self-care and provide resource information.

The free Saturday event encourages attendees to wear pink, especially survivors. The guest speaker will be Dr. Ruth Quarles, health commissioner for the city of Warren. Minister Laveretta Cooks-Shouse is the guest soloist. The service will be followed by a luncheon and giveaways in the fellowship hall. Donations are accepted.

GUEST SPEAKER: The First Presbyterian Church of Warren on Mahoning Avenue will host the First Sunday Speaker series at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, with guest speaker Honeya Price of Warren, who is a Warren city councilwoman and founder of Mothers Against Gun Violence. Price will discuss raising awareness of and finding ways to combat gun violence.

PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY: Dr. Robert and First Lady Audrey Stringer celebrated their 23rd pastoral anniversary in September with a special service with guest speaker Pastor Garrick Matlock of Freeway Gospel Empowerment Center.

NEW MEMBERS SOUGHT: Catholic Collegiate, a local organization for Catholic women with degrees, is accepting new members. Catholic Collegiate’s annual dues are used to support local charities and college scholarships. The next meeting will be 11 a.m. Sunday at The Lake Club in Poland.
