Men’s Rally in the Valley coming to Stambaugh

YOUNGSTOWN — The Men of Faith will host the annual Men’s Rally in the Valley, a free event at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown May 24, starting at 9 a.m.

Christopher Brock, this year’s lead speaker and local pastor, hopes the event will leave attendees “burning with a desire for the things of the Lord.”

The rally speakers also include former Korn guitarist Brian Welch, local news anchor Jim Loboy, author and radio personality Brant Hansen and local worship leader Brendan Lewis.

The event will focus on “Reflection of Christ” with the tagline asking, “Who’s in your mirror?,” accompanied by a photo of a man looking into a mirror with illustrations of Jesus Christ and the devil over his shoulders.

Brock is lead pastor at Life with Christ Ministries in Lisbon and in the same role at Everyone’s Welcome Church in Salineville.

His role of organizing and hosting the monthly men’s breakfasts was established with the blessing of Men of Faith founder Walter “Bing” Newton, shortly before Newton’s passing.

This year marks Brock’s first time speaking at the annual rally, which he calls “God’s timing.”

“The Bible says, you know, don’t be lukewarm,” Brock said. “I pray that the men that walk away from the event have a newfound passion to pursue the Lord and to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.”

Men of Faith originated by building on the cultural impact the “Promise Keepers” movement made in the 1980s and 1990s and has now grown far and wide from its 2009 Columbiana roots.

“I believe there’s so many that are just stuck in life,” Brock said. “You know, just going from day-to-day and that they’re missing their true identity, I think, in so many ways for who God has created them to be.”

The event is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with doors opening at 8 a.m.

Starting at $3.23/week.
