GATHERING PLACE EVENT: Heather Merritt will be guest speaker for the Gathering Place’s regular program 11 a.m. Monday at Birds in Flight Sanctuary, 8095 Columbiana Canfield Road. If it is raining, the program will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield.

Her topic will be the services and programs provided by the Birds in Flight Sanctuary. Bring a lawn chair. A box lunch will be provided.

This is a free community outreach social program offered to all senior citizens on the second Monday of every month. No reservations are required.

SENIOR VOLUNTEERS: The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of the Mahoning Valley is looking for volunteers. For information, contact Leah at 330-480-0352, Ext. 3. RSVP is a national service program for individuals 55 and older who want to volunteer in Mahoning and Trumbull counties. These volunteers also will assist with community events.

PROGRAM FOR SENIORS: ACTION and MYCAP, along with Christ Centered Church, host Seniors Offering Services for men and women 65 and older. Three days per week, seniors participate in virtual programs of exercise, classes, games, community awareness, healthy cooking, chit-chat and humor, among other activities. HUBBARD SENIORS: The Hubbard seniors are looking for more card players to join their group. The group meets 9:30 a.m. Thursdays at the community room at the back of city hall on West Liberty Street. Lunch is available at a cost.

CAREGIVER PROGRAM: The Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter has a new caregiver relief program called The Jan and Josephine Castora Family Caregiver Relief Program, which pays for agency caregivers to assist families needing help caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.

N-HOME PRIMARY CARE: Heyday Health provides in-home and telehealth primary care for Medicare and Medicare / Medicaid dual eligible patients. The patient does not need to be homebound to receive a home visit. Personal care team includes a physician, certified nurse practitioner and health ally.

JCC MEAL PROGRAM: The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown and Jewish Family and Community Services offers fully prepared, frozen meals to anyone in Mahoning and Trumbull counties for home delivery or pick-up. The kosher-style meals are cooked by JCC staff and include an entree and two sides. The cost per meal is $6, with a five-meal minimum.

SSAG NEEDS VOLUNTEERS: The Senior Support Action Group, a nonprofit program that provides services to homebound seniors 55 and older in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties, is seeking both clients and volunteers.

The program provides monthly food box deliveries, phone pals and transportation to medical appointments.

SCSEP OFFERS JOBS: The Vantage Aging Senior Community Service Employment Program offers paid job training and placement to low-income adults.
