Deer Management in Ohio

When: 6:30 p.m. Thursday

What: Michael Tonkovich, deer program administrator from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife, will give a brief history of deer in Ohio, the process for setting management goals (increase, decrease or maintain deer population), an overview of tools used to achieve management goals, deer herd condition and disease updates, and current management challenges and opportunities, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Volunteer Training – Open House

When: 6 p.m. Dec. 2

What: Learn about becoming an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. This certificate program provides intensive, nature focused training. Applicants to the program should be willing to share their passion for the natural world and to promote environmental stewardship while giving back through community service. OCVN provides educational services to their communities by volunteering at local parks and nature centers.
