See how we offend God

Letter of Faith

DEAR EDITOR:

It’s being said of this generation that the internet has trained society to see only fine details, but not the bigger picture. What a disaster waiting to happen.

There’s an asteroid “inching” closer and closer toward the earth as it revolves around us. Power and greed can’t control the elements and stars, moon and sun. I hate to say this, but giving the younger generation permission to sin against God may very likely “grieve God to the point of having him regret making us.” (Genesis 6:6)

In Genesis, they were eating, drinking and giving in marriage when disaster struck. Only Noah found favor with God. Finding favor with God is good.

Everyone’s so focused on how we offend each other, mostly for political gain, that this generation fails to see how they’re offending God. Cartoons are now the object of scorn. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if sin in the world was an object of scorn for the betterment of society to remember God?

Why would “giving in marriage” (Genesis 6:6) offend God to the point of causing the great flood? It’s worth pondering to prevent a cosmic disaster. God is merciful to give us all time to repent.
