WILLIAM McKINLEY PROGRAM: The Poland Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Little Red Schoolhouse, 4515 Center Road. At 7:30 p.m., local historian and Mahoning Valley native Paul Rohrbaugh will present a program on the life of William McKinley, highlighting the future president’s early ties to Poland Township. Rohrbaugh is the author of ‘’Favorite Son: The Life and Times of William McKinley.” The presentation is free. McKinley was born Jan. 29, 1843, in Niles. Northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania high school students and their advisers can win prizes of up to $200 in the second annual Youngstown Press Club Scholastic Journalism Awards contest.
