Tony-winning play ‘Stereophonic’ opens in Cleveland

Most of the Broadway productions that embark on national tours are musicals. “Stereophonic,” which starts a three-week run on Tuesday at Playhouse Square’s Connor Palace as part of the KeyBank Broadway Series, is a play, but it’s also the rare play to earn Tony nominations for best original score and best orchestrations. “Stereophonic” mines the agony and the ecstasy of creation as it zooms in on a music studio in 1976.
