GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY MEETS: Mahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. today at St Charles Church, 7345 Westview Drive. The presentation for the evening will be “Re-creating Your Ancestor’s Journey” by Roslyn Torella. Have you ever wondered what your ancestor’s trip to America was like? In the presentation attendees will learn about transatlantic travel in the era of the great migration to the United States in the late 1890s to the mid-1920s. There will be a brief business meeting, and then the presentation. Light refreshments will be provided.
GIRARD LITERACY NIGHT: Girard’s 2026 Title I Family Literacy Night, “Cozy Nights and Reading Lights,” will take place 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Prospect Elementary School for local students in preschool to 12th grade.
COIN CLUB: The Wheatland Mercer County Coin Club will have its monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of every month. The next meeting is 7 p.m. today at the American Legion Post, 2 Cherry St. This month there will be a special raffle, main raffle, coin auction, birthday prizes and much more. Every member will be awarded one free coin and may participate in the raffles. Members may come early and set up tables to sell coins.
COAT COLLECTION: Lane Funeral Homes locations in Trumbull County are collecting clean new and used winter coats for men, women and children to be given away at the Salvation Army in Warren. Coats can be dropped off at the Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren; Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland; and Madasz Chapel in Brookfield, now through Dec. 4.
