STRUTHERS -- Daniel James Baran, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, with his loving family by his side.
Danny was born on Aug. 19, 1956, in Cleveland, the son of Alexander and Dorothy Vild Baran.
He was a 1974 graduate of South High School and spent his career in the auto sales industry, where he held various positions, including regional manager. Danny knew how to sell a car, but he was even better at making people laugh and keeping everyone around him entertained.
Danny was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan, a commitment that required an impressive amount of loyalty, patience and, occasionally, a very strong vocabulary. He remained devoted to his teams through every season, and, fittingly, he left this earth with not only a Cleveland Guardians win, but also a win for his beloved Cleveland Browns.
He spent countless summer days at Geneva-on-the-Lake with his family, lying on the beach, rubbing instant tickets, playing cards and enjoying the simple things that made him happiest. The Lake gave Danny years of cherished memories, but in 1988, it gave him something far more special, the love of his life, Roxanne.
Danny leaves to cherish his memory his loving partner of nearly 40 years, Roxanne; Danielle (Jeff) and Kevin (Tura), whom he loved as his own; and Kevin's son, Leo, all of whom held a special place in Danny's heart and will carry on his infamous stories and the laughter they brought for years to come.
He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph Baran of Geneva, Janis (George) McDonough of Geneva and Christina (Bill) Kovalchik of Broadview Heights; as well as many nieces and nephews with whom he shared countless fond memories, laughs and good times. He will also be deeply missed by his loyal companions, Cody and Sophie, who kept him company throughout his days and were always by his side.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Dorothy Vild Baran; his brother, James "Jimmy" Baran; his brother-in-law, Al McDonough; and his nephew, James "Jamie" Forsythe.
Danny brought joy, fun, and excitement to even the simplest of daily moments, whether it was dinner with friends or running up the street to buy his instant tickets. His laughter, stories, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of loving him.
Per Danny’s wishes, there will be no services.
Professional services are being handled by Rossi Santucci Funeral Home.
