Jerry L. Keller 1963-2026

AUSTINTOWN — Jerry L. Keller, 62, passed away late Sunday evening, May 3, 2026, surrounded by his family at his residence.

He was born June 14, 1963, in Youngstown, a son of Robert and Mary Ann Pondillo Keller.

Jerry was a 1982 graduate of Hubbard High School and worked in steel manufacturing for Niles Building Products for several years prior to retiring in 2007.

He married the former Diane L. Bortmas on Aug. 25, 1990. Together they shared 35 years of marriage and many happy memories. She survives him.

Jerry enjoyed working outside, mowing his grass and taking care of his yard. He loved music of all kinds and was a DJ in his younger years, known as “The Doctor,” and he was an avid Los Angeles sports fan, including the Dodgers, Lakers and Rams.

His greatest joy was spending quality time with his family, coaching his daughters in softball and never missing their games or activities, and his beloved grandchildren. Jerry was a kind, gentle soul who never knew a stranger and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his wife, Jerry is survived by two daughters, Ashley (Andrew) Orr and Ramsey (Hunter Ledsome) Keller, both of Austintown. He also leaves behind a brother, William (Mary) Keller of Boardman; a sister, Ms. Linda Jones of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Lydia Hagelis and Owen Orr; his beloved granddogs, Oliver and Riley; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Keller; and a brother-in-law, Jay Jones.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, May 8, at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest in Green Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Canfield.
