Youngstown State concluded its three-game slate at Stephen F. Austin’s multi-team event on Saturday. After splitting the first two games against Monmouth and Presbyterian, the Penguins fell to the Lumberjacks 64-57 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Youngstown State suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday. The Penguins struggled from the floor in a 51-36 road defeat at Bucknell. YSU shot 15%, making only nine of its 60 field-goal attempts. Jewel Watkins and Malia Magestro paced the scoring for the Penguins with Watkins leading the way with 9 points, shooting 7-for-12 from the free-throw line. Youngstown State’s men’s basketball team was outpaced Friday afternoon, falling to Presbyterian College, 67-42. Ty Harper led the Penguins with 12 points, and EJ Farmer added 10.
