Youngstown State signs eight players on Wednesday
YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State’s football program added eight players on National Signing Day Wednesday, inclduing local talent Karter Kellgren, a 6-foot-4, 300 pound offensive lineman from Poland.
Kellgren committed to YSU in August, but officially signed his letter of intent Wednesday. The senior was an honorable All-Ohio Division IV selection and a first-team OPSWA Northeast Inland All-District selection in Division IV.
Brandon Alexander, a quarterback from nearby Alliance High School joins the team as well. Alexander was a second-team All-Ohio Division III selection this past season and was a three-year starter with the Avaitors and led them to three consecutive playoff berths.
The Penguins also added a trio of players from the Toldeo area in EJ Johnson, J’Shun Rushing and Da’Shun Tanner.
