Reds infielder Toglia to have season-ending surgery
SAN FRANCISCO — Cincinnati Reds infielder/outfielder Michael Toglia will undergo season-ending surgery Tuesday on his right shoulder after he was injured Friday making a diving catch against Arizona. Manager Terry Francona made the announcement Monday before the opener of a three-game series at San Francisco. Team orthopedist Dr. Tim Kremchek will perform the surgery to repair a torn labrum and Toglia will do his rehabilitation in San Diego to be close to family, Francona said.
