INDIANAPOLIS — Youngstown State is among the field of teams competing for the 2025 FCS Football Championship. The field was announced today by the NCAA.

The 15-seed Penguins (8-4) will host Yale (8-2) out of the Ivy League in the first round at Stambaugh Stadium on Nov. 29 with a noon kickoff tentatively scheduled.

North Dakota State (12-0), winners of the Missouri Valley Football Conference, earned the top seed in their 16th consecutive appearance in the championship. The Bison are the defending champions and have won 16 straight games dating back to last season.

Montana State (10-2) is the No. 2 seed and winners of the Big Sky Conference. The Bobcats are making their fifth consecutive appearance that includes two runner-up finishes in that stretch. If Youngstown State defeats Yale, the Penguins will face Montana State on Dec.6 in the second round of playoffs.

YSU won five of the last six games of its regular season, including wins over Illinois State, Southern Illinois and its first win at Northern Iowa since 1999.

All tickets for the first-round game between the Penguins and Bulldogs can be purchased online via YSUsports.com. Tickets can be purchased starting at 2 p.m. today.

YSU season-ticket holders and Penguin Club members will be able to purchase their reserved seats through their Tickets.com YSU account.

The YSU Athletic Ticket Office will be open Monday-Wednesday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Friday (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) this week at Stambaugh Stadium. The University is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, but tickets will be available online that day.
