YSU throttles IUPUI for league win

Youngstown State put together one of its best defensive performances of the season on Thursday to cruise past IUPUI 78-50.
YSU took the lead from the opening tip and never trailed in a dominant effort.
IUPUI missed all 14 of its three-point attempts, and the Penguins held the Jaguars to 33.9% shooting overall.
DJ Burns led YSU with a 16-point, 13-rebound double-double. Ziggy Reid also scored 16 points, while EJ Farmer had 15 and Bryson Langdon finished with 11. The Penguins shot 50.8% for the game.
With the win, YSU improves to 15-6 overall and 7-3 in the Horizon League. The Penguins are tied for second in the conference, half a game back of first-place Green Bay at 8-3, which knocked off Oakland on Thursday night.
After completing its three-game road trip, YSU returns home to the Beeghly Center next to face Northern Kentucky on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
