YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown State women’s basketball team will face Western Michigan as part of a home-and-home series, according to a game contract obtained by the Tribune Chronicle through a public records request.

The Penguins will travel to Kalamazoo, Mich., on Nov. 22, 2022. The Broncos will make a return trip to Youngstown in 2023. YSU is 3-5 all-time against WMU, and last faced the Broncos in 2011, an 80-55 victory.

Three other contracts were returned, as well. YSU will host West Virginia Tech on Dec. 6th and pay $2,500 for the game.

Canisius, whom YSU visited last season, will make its return trip to Youngstown on Dec. 10 to conclude a home-and-home series. Youngstown State topped the Golden Griffins in Buffalo, N.Y., last season, 69-66. The Penguins are 6-5 all-time against Canisius.

Finally, YSU will host Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Dec. 21 and will pay MVNU $2,000 for the visit. That game is slated for 11 a.m.
