Warren Senior Masters title is decided today

Bobby Shultz totaled 2,656 pins following the third round of qualifying and will lead seven other senior bowlers into the final round of the Warren Senior Masters bowling tournament today beginning at 1 p.m. at Champion Lanes.

The third and final round of qualifying took place at Freeway Lanes on Saturday. Four games were rolled in each round.

Shultz led Butch Solarz by four pins to win the 50-59 age division. Tom Gmutza scored 2,639 over the 12 qualifying games to win the 60-69 age division, and Charles Coleman Sr. had a 2,077 score to win the 70-older division. The three division winners, plus the next five highest scored qualified for the finals.

Solarz (2,654) led the wildcard qualifiers followed by Greg Martha (50-59) with a score of 2,642, Jim Valentine (60-69) with a 2,595, Bruce Boyd (60-69) with a 2,476 and Frank Florjancic (60-69) with a 2,459.

Joe Nuzzo (60-69) was four pins behind Florjancic and will be the alternate. Two bowlers from the 50-59 division, Mel Bowen and Mike Large, missed out on qualifying by seven and 12 pins, respectively.
