Late Sunday

Eagle Wear 5, Whiting Roll-Offs 4 – Eagle Wear escaped with a victory over Whiting Roll-Offs Sunday evening. Jake Papagallo allowed four runs (three earned) on 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win. He struck out six and walked one. Zach Luciano recorded the final two outs to earn the save. Anthony Caruso led Eagle Wear with two hits, a run and an RBI. Cal Rinck hit an RBI single and scored a run. Chris Altiere and Joe Roth both contributed a hit and an RBI to the winning effort. Dante Micaletti slugged three hits for Whiting, including a double, scored a run and drove in two in the game.

Prospects 15, Roth Brothers 1 – Prospects rolled to an easy victory as Drew Kirilla recorded the win for Prospects. He gave up one run on five hits in four innings while striking out five and walking one. Zach Macik helped lead the Prospects with two hits, including a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Jake Hettrick and Shakir Perkins each had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored, while Ashton Dunbar added two hits and scored a pair of runs. Christian Mudrey had two hits and a run scored in the game for Roth Brothers.

Knightline 5, Astro Falcons 1 – Knightline did all their damage in the top of the third inning, scoring five times en route to a victory over the Falcons in the battle of the remaining unbeatens in the 16u division. Jake Corll got the win for Knightline, allowing one run on five hits in four innings. He struck out eight and did not walk a batter. Gavin Shrum slugged a pair of hits for Knightline, scored a run and drove in one more. Anthony Butto hit an RBI double in the game. Gino Lazzari and Mike Sciortino each had a hit, a run and an RBI in the win. Tyler Staub had two hits and scored the Astro’s only run.

Class B results

18U – Late Wednesday

Whiting Roll-Offs 8, DuraEdge 2: Chase Morrison led all hitters with three hits, a run and an RBI for Whiting. Tyler Kamerer added an RBI triple and a double, while Ben Dottle hit an RBI double. Will Shaffer hit a two-run single to drive in both DuraEdge runs. Gavin Wooley earned the win for Whiting, giving up two runs on five hits in four innings — striking out four and walking one. Garrett Donaldson took the loss for DuraEdge, allowing five runs (four earned) in three innings — striking out three and walking one. Whiting won despite committing four errors.

Creekside Fitness 10, Roth Brothers 0: Nic Rispoli tossed a one-hit shutout over five innings — striking out nine and walking four to give Creekside the win. Jared Obreza took the loss in relief for Roth. Grant Voytovich hit a homerun and drove in four runs for Creekside. Thomas Koch led all hitters with three hits two runs scored and two RBIs. David Duffalo added an RBI double, a single and scored a run. Anthony Sherwin had two hits, an RBI triple, and scored twice. Cameron Goble hit an RBI double. Cam Hollobaugh’s double was Roth’s lone hit.

Class B results

Late Tuesday – 16U

Astro Falcons (2-0) 11, Eagle Wear (0-2) 0: Tino Campoli tossed a three-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking two. William Morrow had a pair of hits and an RBI for Astro. Campoli helped his own cause at the plate with a hit, two runs scored and two RBI. Seth Cervello slugged a two-run single while Ben Slanker hit a triple and scored a run to help further the Astro assault.

Knightline (2-0) 7, Whiting Roll-Offs (1-1) 3: A four-run third inning keyed Knightline. Guy Young picked up the win, allowing just one run on two hits in four quality innings. Anthony Butto led Knightline with two hits, a run and three RBI. Gino Lazzari hit an RBI double and scored twice while Gavin Shrum had a hit and touched home three times. Mike Sciortino added a hit, a run and a pair of RBI to the victory. Cre Calabria pounded out two hits, including an RBI triple, and scored a run in the game for Whiting.

DuraEdge (2-0) 9, Prospects (0-2) 7: DuraEdge scored a run in every inning. Kyle Yost smacked two hits for DuraEdge, one a double, scored three times and drove in two runs. Caleb Jones had a hit and two RBI, Jarrod Malagise hit an RBI double and Kartet Weitzel slugged a double of his own and scored twice. Jake Hettrick hit a two-run double and scored a run for Prospects.
