Phantoms’ Kuntar honored
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Phantoms, in conjunction with the United States Hockey League , has announced that Phantoms forward Trevor Kuntar has been named to the All-USHL Second Team for the 2019-2020 season.
Kuntar is an eligible prospect for the 2020 NHL Draft scheduled for June 26-27 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
Trevor Kuntar, 19, of Buffalo, New York, committed to Harvard University, came to the Youngstown Phantoms as a tender in 2017. Kuntar represented the United States at the 2019 World Junior A Challenge in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
Kuntar led the Youngstown Phantoms in scoring for the 2019-2020 season.
“It’s an honor being named to second team. I couldn’t have done it without my teammates and coaches,” Kuntar said.
Phantoms head coach Brad Patterson said he could not speak highly enough of his forward.
“His drive and compete level are second to none, and he drove his teammates and competition to match that on a daily basis,” Patterson said. “He had an exceptional career here in Youngstown (2017-2020), which ended in a dominant year by any standard. His imprint on this program for years to come. The sky is the limit in his future.”
