SOCCER The United Soccer Coaches announced the 2025 High School Boys and Girls Soccer All-America teams, and three locals were among the top 199 players in the country. The 2025 high school football season came to a close this past weekend with the crowning of seven state champions. Closer to home, the season concluded a week earlier when two local teams were eliminated in state semifinal games. Despite those setbacks, the season provided area football fans with 15 weeks of excitement, drama and standout individual and team performances. The first batch of all-state football teams were released on Monday. The postseason honors began with the honorees from Division VI and Division VII. Starting in Division VII, the Mahoning Valley saw three get first-team honors on offense. McDonald had a pair of recipients with quarterback Kyle Puckett and running back Drew Zajack making the list.
