Howland hires Giesy as new boys basketball coach

Howland announced the hire of Craig Giesy as the school’s next boys basketball head coach late on Wednesday.

Giesy previously served 13 seasons as the head coach at Bristol, where he won 242 games and led the Panthers to 11 conference titles, 10 sectional titles and two district championships.

“Howland school officials and the Tigers athletic department are excited to welcome Coach Giesy and look forward to the future of the basketball program under his leadership,” the school said in a press release. “His vision, passion for developing student-athletes, and commitment to building a strong culture throughout all levels of the program make him an outstanding fit for the Howland community.”

Giesy replaces former Howland coach Dan Bubon, who left to take the boys head coaching position at his alma mater Warren G. Harding in April.

Starting at $3.23/week.
