SOFTBALL

Girard 7, Lakeview 5 — Gabby Doran had two hits, including a home run and drove in five runs. Ava Serrano added a hit and an RBI for the Indians. Ava Neilan had two hits and two RBIs for Lakeview. Rylee Barnot and Mackenzie Stowe had a hit and an RBI each and Isabella Isenberg had three hits for the Bulldogs.

Canfield 6, Howland 5 — Caylee Ortiz homered and added another hit, driving in two runs for Canfield, who won on a walk-off hit. The Cardinals trio of Brooke O’Palick, Sami Economous and Leah Figueroa had a hit and an RBI each and Jenna Triveri had two hits. Maya Kubancsek and Quinn Bundt had a hit and an RBI each for Howland and Madison Schmitz had two hits.

LaBrae 15, Crestview 4 — Shelby Bragg fell just a double short of the cycle, totaling two singles, a single, and a home run for LaBrae. Bragg drove in four runs and scored three herself. Riley Rowe added three hits and an RBI for the hot Vikings bats. Isabella Michael added to the offense with a pair of doubles and a single and four RBIs of her own and Mariah Jones had a pair of hits and RBIs.

Maplewood 10, Mathews 1 — Addison Marker hit a grand slam and struck out three in one inning of relief to lead Maplewood. Lexi Yannucci added four hits, three RBIs and six strikeouts in the circle for the Rockets. Katie Wear and Aleesia Woomer combined for five hits and two RBIs with Wear getting three hits. Riley Paddock drove in the lone Mathews run.

Austintown Fitch 12, Strasburg 3 — Three different players homered for Fitch (18-0), including Kylie Folkwein, who went yard three times, Kalina Ray and Abby Toth. Folkwein and Toth combined for seven RBIs with Folkwein driving in four. Annabel Mikesell and Lily Stevens had two hits and an RBI each with Mikesell doubling twice. Alyssa Rodgers also drove in a pair of runs with three hits and Mila Hamley was dominant again for the Falcons, striking out eight in seven innings.

LATE MONDAY

United 9, Columbiana 2 — Madison Aegerter struck out 10 of United and added a hit and an RBI at the plate. Chloe Angelo homered and singled, driving in two runs for the Golden Eagles. Josie Wargo also had a pair of hits and drove in a run. Ella Eisenbraun struck out seven for Columbiana.

Chaney 8, Bristol 5 — No stats were provided.

BASEBALL

Canfield 13, Howland 3 — Anthony Groner homered and had another hit, driving in three runs and scoring two more for Canfield. Groner was also the starting pitcher, striking out eight. Michael Maszczak and Jackson Johnson added a pair of hits and an RBI each for the Cardinals. Deacon Mock, Richie Ansel and Brayden Kovarik had a hit each for Howland.

LaBrae 15, Crestview 1 — Lucs Glaser and Austin Rowe combined for four hits and seven RBIs with Glaser driving in four runs. Rowe also started at pitcher and struck out three in 2.1 innings. John Kincade struck out six in relief and had a hit and an RBI. The Vikings trio of Eric Armstrong, Colton Hall and Jacob Simpson had a hit and drive in two runs. E. Cope had two hits for Crestview.

Newton Falls 8, Champion 3 — Nick Reynolds had a hit and two RBIs for Newton Falls. Zayne Shelton and Hunter Persin added a hit and RBI each for the Tigers and Wyatt Wheeler led the offense with three hits. Shelton also struck out six in a complete game outing. Matthew Okonek and Chase Vesey had a hit and an RBI each for Champion.

Mathews 11, Maplewood 1 — Jake Petak led Mathews with two hits and three RBIs. Caleb Nicula and Jared Pegg added two hits each. Nicula and Zane Fisher drove in two runs each for the Mustangs. Cooper had two hits for Maplewood.

Springfield 15, Western Reserve 0 — Jackson Ensley allowed no hits in five innings and struck out five for Springfield. Ensley also scored three runs. Alec Fusco had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Tigers on offense.

McDonald 15, Lowellville 4 — No stats were provided.

LATE MONDAY

Columbiana 6, United 5 (8 inn.) — Avery Young and Ethan Lehnerd pitched six innings each for Columbiana, striking out six each. Young led the Clippers on offense with three hits. Beckett Wilson doubled and drove in three runs and Hunter Davanzo had two hits and drove in a run. For United, Kaden Schonauer struck out 11 in 5.1 innings. Nick Lutes and Cavan Jackson combined for four hits and drove in three runs, with Lutes driving in a pair of runs.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Howland 3, Akron Hoban 0 — Howland (16-4) got the sweep over Hoban, led by Wesley Fee with 22 kills, 11 digs and one block. Phillip Rullo had eight service points with three aces and eight kills and Evan Neely added 29 assists and two aces.Freddie Rivera also contributed with 10 digs and eight points.
