BASEBALL
Newton Falls 8, Jackson-Milton 2 — Leland Vargo and Michael Bennett totaled three hits each to lead Newton Falls. Zayne Shelton struck out seven in six innings for the Tigers. Shelton added a hit and RBI at the plate. Ethan Sokol led Jackson Milton with two hits and two RBIs.
South Range 4, Poland 3 (10 inn.) — Poland scored to take a 3-2 in the top of the 10th inning, but South Range scored two in the bottom half of the inning to win in walk-off fashion. Wilson Lower struck out 10 for South Range. The Raiders offense was led by Drew Starkey with two hits and an RBI. Brennen Klasovsky added a hit and RBI and Cooper Martz and Will Gehring had two hits each. Zach Marantis had two hits and an RBI and Carmine Tukalo added a pair of hits for Poland. The Bulldogs pitching duo of Stephen Kopkash and Owen McKenzie combined for 17 strikeouts with McKenzie striking out nine. This game resumed from April 15th. It was tied in the bottom of the 9th and suspended due to weather.
Struthers 8, West Branch 7 — Drew Chizmar had three hits and three RBIs to lead Struthers. Travis McMurray and Mannie Perez added a pair of hits each for the Wildcats. Grayden Grimm had three hits for West Branch. Carson Wike and Bryce Parker added a pair of hits each for the Warriors.
Maplewood 10, Bristol 4 — Luke Shipman had a triple, double and four RBIs to lead Maplewood. Tyson Webster added a pair of hits and RBIs for the Rockets and Kenyan Clover added two hits. Jonas Miller and Christian Van Ness had a hit and RBI for Bristol. Kaden Garcia added two hits for the Panthers.
Ursuline 11, LaBrae 10 — H. DeLuca had two hits and three RBIs and struck out six for Ursuline. R. Urback also drove in three runs with a pair of hits and D. Monroe and G. Aurilio had two hits and an RBI each for the Irish. Logan Brunstetter led LaBrae with three hits and three RBIs. Eric Reibold added two hits and an RBI and Lucas Glaser drove in two runs with a hit for the Vikings.
Howland 15, Girard 4 — Brayden Kovarik drove in four runs with three hits to lead Howland. Richie Ansel added three hits for the Tigers and Santino Minniti added a pair of hits. Joey Alejars had two hits for Girard and Jaden Royal stole two bases.
LATE THURSDAY
Lakeview 6, LaBrae 2 — Nathan Paolucci and Brandon Toot had two hits and RBIs each to lead Lakeview. Hayden Newton added a hit and RBI and Blake Swinning added a hit and struck out two for the Bulldogs. Easton Armstrong had two hits for LaBrae.
SOFTBALL
Lakeview 11, West Branch 1 — A five run fifth inning helped Lakeview add to a 6-1 lead. Mackenzie Stowe doubled and tripled, driving in three runs for the Bulldogs. Klaryssa Werner added two hits and an RBI and Annaliese DeJulio had a hit and RBI. Jianna Shaker knocked in two runs with a hit for Lakeview.
Maplewood 8, Columbia 2 — Addison Marker struck out 13 batters and had a double and RBI for Maplewood. Lexi Yannucci, Raegan Krieg and Paige Clower had a hit and RBI each and Samantha Krieg drove in two runs with a hit for Maplewood.
LATE THURSDAY
Champion 12, Southeast 1 — Addie McIntosh had three hits and struck out eight for Champion. Jonna Strock led the Flashes with four hits, including a triple and Taylor Rouan had two hits. Carly Dyer added a home run for Champion.
Cardinal Mooney 12, East 0 — Justice Paris struck out 13 batters in five innings for Mooney. Paris also had a hit and RBI. Grace Rinaldo smashed a home run and drove in three and Lexi McKinstry also had a hit and drove in three runs for the Cardinals. Callie Pribula added a pair of hits and an RBI.
