SOFTBALL
Austintown Fitch 12, Saluga 2 — Fitch (10-0) scored 12 runs on 11 hits to stay unbeaten. Mila Hanley struck out nine in a complete game effort for the Falcons. Kylie Folkwein led the offense with a single, double and four RBI’s. Morgan Roby added three hits and an RBI and Alyssa Rodgers had a hit and RBI for Fitch.
Poland 8, Elizabethtown (Ky.) 7 — Poland picked up a win over some out-of-state competition in Tennessee yesterday. Heading into the seventh inning Poland trailed 6-2, but the Bulldogs would rally. Avery Jakubovic doubled with the bases loaded, cutting the lead to 6-5. Cassie Blanch then doubled, bringing Jakubovic home to knot the game at six. The game would stay tied until the top of the 11th inning when Poland got a pair of runs from Lily Madeline and Lena Shafer who got on base with sacrifice bunts and then were driven home on a single by Leanna Boccieri. Boccieri finished with four hits and Jakubovic had two hits and three RBI’s for the Bulldogs.
Poland 3, Pikeview (W.Va.) 1 — Poland picked up another win against out-of-state competition in the second half of their doubleheader. Leanna Boccieri hit an inside the park home run to give Poland a 1-0 lead. She would then hit another inside the park home run to push the lead to 3-0. Madison Medvec started the game for Poland and struck out 11 batters.
Brookfield 14, Sharpsville (Pa.) 4 — Brookfield had 14 hits overall and six different players had at least two hits. Luciana Kolat and Mariah Norris had two hits and drove in two runs each. Elaina Boyce, Maci Phillips and Alana Jarvis had a hit and drove in a run each and Cassi Samios had two hits for the Warriors.
Pymatuning Valley 6, Girard 1 — Peyton Hudson drove in three runs with one hit to lead Pymatuning Valley. The Lakers had five players get one hit and Isabella Limestoll had a pair of hits to lead the team. Quinn Wilster and Brooklyn Broll had three hits each for Girard, but the Indians struggled to bring runs home. Kyra Bell had a hit and drove in Girard’s lone run.
Wheeling Central Catholic (W.Va.) 5, Columbiana 2 — Morgan Miehle and Maddie Miehle combined for five hits to lead Central Catholic. Chloe Groome added two hits and Erin Maxwell had a hit and three RBI’s. Kyla Hogan and Callahan Ward had two hits each for Columbiana (4-2).
Ursuline 14, Mineral Ridge 7 — E. Lewis led Ursuline with three hits and two RBI’s. E. Davies added three hits and an RBI for the Irish. Davies also struck out 10 in relief. B. Burton and A. Stroney had two hits each with two and three RBI’s respectively. Kelcee Dye had a home run and three RBI’s for Mineral Ridge. Layla Crumbacher and Savannah Turek added a hit and RBI each for the Rams.
BASEBALL
Lakeview 10, Mineral Ridge 3 — Hayden Newton and Brandon Toot had two hits and three RBI’s each to lead the Lakeview offense. Nathan Paolucci added a hit and an RBI for the Bulldogs. Xavier Klamer led Mineral Ridge with two hits and two RBI’s. Ethan Vestorsky added a hit and RBI for the Rams.

DOUBLES: Jeremy Augustein/Connor Loper (WB) def Ryan Folger/Trevor Bails 6-0 6-1, Blake Robbins/Mason Cosma (WB) def Sean Hoffman/Logan Buher 6-0 6-0.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Howland 3, Akron North 0 — Wesley Fee put together another great all around outing for Howland (9-3), totaling nine kills, eight digs, three blocks and two aces as the Tigers won in a sweep. Evan Neely had 15 assists and Phillip Rullo added 10 assists and six kills. Freddie Rivera and Nicholas Caesar had nine service points each with Rivera scoring two aces.
