SOFTBALL

Austintown Fitch 17, East Gaston 2 — The Fitch (9-0) offense was firing on all cylinders again. Seneca Coated led the Falcons with a triple, single and four RBI’s. Morgan Roby added two hits and three RBI’s and Kaliana Ray and Annabel Mikesell had two hits and two RBI’s each. Mila Hamley struck out 10 batters in five innings.

Maplewood 7, Windham 0 — Lexi Yannucci struck out 16 batters while allowing only two hits and walking two batters for Maplewood. Yannucci was also dominant at the plate with two hits, including a double and three RBI’s. Claire Urchek drove in three runs with a hit and Addison Marker and Raegan Krieg combined for two hits and three RBI’s with Marker driving in two.

Lakeview 12, Struthers 1 — Isabella Isenberg struck out 12 to lead Lakeview to a dominant win. Isenberg allowed just two hits and offensively had a hit. Rylee Barnot led the Bulldogs with three hits and an RBI. Mackenzie Stowe added two hits and three RBI’s. Nine other batters had hits for Lakeview. Riley Guy and Hanah Susany had a hit each for LaBrae and Samantha Minno drove in their only run of the game.

Hubbard 12, Girard 6 — Layla Songer had five hits and drove in three runs for Hubbard, who had 16 hits as a team. Izzie Slifka and Ashley Moslewk added three hits and two RBI’s each for the Eagles. Haleigh Taylor also came up big on offense with a pair of hits and three RBI’s. Gabby Doran led Girard with two hits and three RBI’s. Brooklyn Broll added two hits and two RBI’s for the Indians.

Carrollton 2, Howland 0 — Erin Shafer had a hit and an RBI to lead Carrollton in a low scoring contest. Olivia Lambert led Howland with two hits. Makenna Perry added a hit and struck out 10 batters for the Tigers.

Brookfield 6, Champion 4 — Luciana Kolat led Brookfield with two hits and an RBI. Four other Warriors had a hit and drove in a run including Elaina Boyce, Madison Obermiyer, Mariah Norris and Maci Phillips. Ava Sylvester had two hits and an RBI for Champion. Adalyn McIntosh and Jonna Strock also had two hits for the Flashes. McIntosh also had eight strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched for Champion.

LaBrae 9, Garrettsville Garfield 1 — Leah DeArmitt struck out 11 in a complete game outing for LaBrae. She also had a home run and drove in a pair of runs. Shelby Bragg had three hits for the Vikings and Isabella Michael added two more. Also contributing was Riley Rowe and Mariah Jones with a hit and RBI each.

Mineral Ridge 6, Columbiana 5 — Maddie Gerberry led Mineral Ridge with three hits, helping hand Columbiana (4-1) their first loss of the season. Kelcee Dye and Laney Rigley added a hit and RBI for the Rams. Landry Smith had three hits to lead Columbiana. Callahan Ward added two hits and an RBI for the Clippers.

Louisville 5, Ursuline 1 — Taylor Schneider struck out nine batters in five innings for Louisville. Kaitlin Twinem had two hits and an RBI for the Leopards. Maggie Baker and Shae O’Neill added a hit and RBI each. Alice Stroney had a home run for Ursuline.

Badger 10, Lordstown 0 — No stats were provided.

BASEBALL

LaBrae 8, Garrettsville Garfield 6 — Austin Rowe struck out seven in seven innings and had a hit for Labrae. Easton Armstrong drove in three runs with one hit. Eric Reibold and Landon Brunstetter combined for four hits and an RBI with Brunstetter driving in the run for the Vikings.

Mineral Ridge 6, Niles 2 — Preston Kline pitched a complete game, striking out eight for Mineral Ridge. At the plate, Kline drove in two runs and recorded a hit. Jackson Geddes added two hits and an RBI for the Rams and Xavier Klamer had a hit and RBI. Joseph Lehman had a hit for Niles and pitched four innings, striking out four. Brady Court had the Red Dragons only RBI.

Chalker 11, Bristol 1 — Logan Smallsreed and Bobby Prowitt had a pair of hits each for Chalker. Smallsreed drove in two runs and Prowitt drove in another for the Wildcats. Beau Brown added a hit and an RBI along with seven strikeouts on the mound. Kaden Garcia had two hits for Bristol.

Mathews 3, Warren Harding 2 — Caleb Nicula hit a single with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning to drive in what would be the game winning run. Jared Pegg and Jake Petak added two hits each for the Mustangs. Jaron Edmonds had a pair of hits for Harding.

Champion 5, Brookfield 3 — Chase Vesey singled and doubled for Champion, who scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning after trailing 3-1 for a majority of the game. Carter Chapin had a hit and RBI for the Flashes and Marky Nolan and Caleb Linger drove in a run each. Devin Reardon had three hits for Brookfield, while the duo of Bray Coleman and Blake Hammond had a hit and an RBI each for the Warriors.

Cardinal Mooney 6, Bishop Watterson 1 — Mooney was led by Andrew Bushey with three hits and two RBI’s. Kaden Reese added two hits and an RBI for the Cardinals. Johnny Brenner didn’t reach base, but drove in two Mooney runs.

Springfield 12, Campbell 0 — Springfield (3-2) got 13 combined strikeouts from Jaxon Minetti, Noah Troggio and Ian Anderson. On offense, the Tigers were led by Alec Fusso with three hits and three RBI’s. Jackson Ensley added two hits and two RBI’s and Jordan Morgan drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers.

Badger 11, Lordstown 10 — An eight run second inning from Badger propelled them to a close victory in a high scoring contest. Jack Harnett led the Braves with a home run, double and three RBI’s. Michael Waybright added a hit and two RBI’s for Badger. Lewis Flowers struck out seven batters in just three innings for the Braves. Lordstown did not have a roster available to provide stats.
