Brookfield 11, Newton Falls 1 – Luciana Kolat and Elaina Boyce had three hits each for Brookfield, with Boyce driving in two runs. Aubrey Cabrera added two hits and drove in two runs and Madison Obermiyer had two hits and an RBI along with six strikeouts as the starting pitcher. Cassi Samios notched a pair of hits and Grace Teal drove in two runs with a hit. Madison Davis had a hit and RBI for Newton Falls.
Lakeview 12, Hubbard 1 – Isabella Isenberg totaled the hits, three RBIs and four strikeouts as Lakeview’s starting pitcher. Mackenzie Stowe and Annaliese DeJulio combined for four hits and five RBIs with DeJulio driving in three runs. Layla Songer had a hit and RBI for Hubbard.
South Range 21, Struthers 0 – Eleven different South range players had at least one RBI, led by S. Brogan with four RBIs. Brogan doubled and hit a home run. A. Peterson, S. DeJesus, M. Annichine and A. Wardle had a hit and two RBIs each. Gabby Spooner had a pair of doubles and an RBI for the Raiders.
Austintown Fitch 6, Boardman 0 – Mila Hamley struck out eight to lead Fitch (16-0) to another victory. Kaliana Ray led the offense with a double, triple and RBI. Morgan Roby and Seneca Coates had a hit and RBI each and Lily Stevens had two hits and drove in two runs for the Falcons. Mikayla Rivera had a pair of hits for Boardman. Fitch coach Steve Ward earned his 200th career victory in the win.
Girard 8, Poland 4, 9 innings – Poland scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to send the game to extra innings, but a four run ninth inning gave Girard the lead for good. The Indians were led by Caylee Wilkes with three hits and an RBI. Gianna Saxon had a hit and drove in three runs and the trio of Chloe Plant, Brooklyn Broll and Riley Collins had two hits and an RBI each. Cassie Blanch had two hits and an RBI for Poland and Madison Medvec and Ali Blinsky had two hits and an RBI each. Blinsky struck out six in 8.2 innings and Leanna Boccieri had two hits for Poland.
Maplewood 15, Lordstown 1 – Addison Marker struck out 12 in four innings and had three hits to lead Maplewood. Claire Urchek paced the offense with three hits and four RBIs. Lexi Yannucci and Raegan Krieg added two hits and an RBI each. Katie Wear, Paige Clower and Lauren Krieg added a pair of hits and RBIs each for the Rockets. Trinity Limbeck led Lordstown with a hit and RBI.
Maplewood 23, Lordstown 0 – Maplewood got the sweep in the doubleheader, led by Claire Urchek with three doubles and five RBIs. Samantha Krieg added three hits and three RBIs. Aleesia Woomer had four hits and drove in two runs for the Rockets. Addison marker had two hits and RBIs and Paige Clower and Raegan Krieg had a hit and RBI each.
Champion 15, Liberty 0 – Taylor Rouan had three hits to lead Champion, including a double and triple. Jonna Strock, Josie Perhach and Haley Bungard had two hits each for the Flashes. Carly Dyer, Addi McIntosh and Haley Bungard drove in two runs each and Ava Sylvester homered for Champion.
Champion 15, Liberty 0 – Champion swept the doubleheader, with Addie McIntosh smashing a home run and Josie Perhach driving in three runs with a triple. Carly Dyer also drove in two runs and struck out five. Also adding to the offense was Tayler Rouan and Maddie Sylvester with two hits each.
Bristol 12, East 2 – No stats were provided.
Mathews 13, Fairport 2 – Mathews won its fourth-straight game with a 13-2 takedown of Fairport Harding on Monday. Sara Geilhard, Liz Rowan, and Marina Eagle each recorded two hits. Both of Geilhard’s hits were doubles. Rowan rounded the bases three times, hit a triple, and recorded three RBIs. Callie Robinson had three RBIs and a double. Sydnie Nelson recorded the win in the circle for the Mustangs.
BASEBALL
Struthers 4, Niles 2 – Drew Chizmar led Struthers with two hits and two RBIs. Anthony Pastella added a pair of hits and Jordan Becker struck out six and drove in a run for the Wildcats. Vincent Dennis had two hits and an RBI for Niles.
Canfield 12, Warren G. Harding 0 – Canfield jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning and the lead was never in danger. Jake Dovich led the Cardinals with two hits and three RBIs. Matt Campbell added two hits and drove in four runs. Anthony Groner and Joey Gabriel combined for five hits for the Cardinals. Jaron Edmonds, Da’Rone Pennock and Doug Pleacher had a hit each for Harding.
LaBrae 3, Southeast 1 – Logan Brunstetter struck out 11 in seven innings to lead LaBrae. Brunstetter added a hit and RBI at the plate. The Vikings also got a hit and RBI from Eric Reibold and two hits from Austin Rowe.
Maplewood 20, Lordstown 1 – Preston Cooper had a pair of hits and drove in five runs to lead Maplewood in a three inning game. Cowen Hooper drove in four runs with a hit and Tyson Webster and Cole Urchek added a hit and drove in two runs each. Luke Shipman and Gabe Erwin also drove in a pair of runs each for the Rockets.
Newton Falls 9, Brookfield 1 – Tyler Stinson had two hits and an RBI to lead Newton Falls. Hunter Persin doubled twice and drove in a run and Leland Vargo and Zayne Shelton had two hits each for the Tigers. Vargo struck out 10 and the trio of Michael Bennett, Georgie Phillips and Wyatt Wheeler added a hit and RBI each. Joe Hook had a hit and RBI for Brookfield.
South Range 2, Hubbard 0 – Will Gehring had a hit and RBI to lead South Range. Brennen Klasovsky also drove in a run for the Raiders and struck out nine in seven innings. Jonny Adamson struck out eight for Hubbard.
Mathews 10, Fairport Harbor 2 – Kam Kester doubled and drove in four runs to lead Mathews. Jared Pegg led the Mustangs with three hits. Kohen Galm had two hits for Fairport.
Poland 5, Lakeview 4, 8 innings – Poland had to rally, scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game, and then getting a walk off win in the eighth innings. Dylan Kelty hit a home run and drove in three runs for Poland. Kelly Memo added two hits and an RBI. David Vlosich added a pair of doubles and Zach Marantis also had two hits. David Vlosich struck out five over the last four innings to help the Poland rally. Brandon Cash had two hits and three RBIs for Lakeview. Nicolas Aho struck out seven in 6.1 innings for the Bulldogs.
Howland 8, Stow-Munroe Falls 4 – Terri Werner had a hit and two RBIs to lead Howland. Keaton Perry also drove in two runs and Brayden Kovarik and Santino Minniti had a hit each for the Tigers. Evan Barker and Aidan Callahan had a hit and RBI each for Stow-Munroe Falls.
Alliance 8, Ursuline 2 – DiAngelo Fisk had three hits and an RBI to lead Alliance. Parker Woods also had three hits for the Aviators. Kamren Burton drove in a pair of runs and Lincoln Reese had a hit and two RBIs. Harrison DeLuca and Matt Pesa had a hit and RBI each for Ursuline.
Springfield 12, Waterloo 2 – Brock Masello had two hits and four RBIs for Springfield. Grayson Seifert added two hits and two RBIs. Jaxon Minetti was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts.
