Seneca East 31, Maplewood 25 — Maplewood couldn’t stop a Seneca East second-half comeback. The Rockets held a 10-point lead, but it slowly evaporated as the game went on. Morgan Himes led the Rockets (23-4) with 13 points, Claire Urchek scored six, Aliah Brumit finished with four and Katie Wear scored two. Izzy Stockmaster led the Tigers with 13 points, and Alexa Snay added 10 points.

Northeast 1
Canfield 56, Brookside 41 — A North Ridgeville Academic Center, the Cardinals made program history by claiming their third straight district championship. It’s the first time the Canfield boys won three straight district titles. Stats were not reported by print deadline. The Cardinals will face Cleveland Central Catholic on Thursday at 8 p.m. in Canton Memorial Fieldhouse.

Northeast 3
Fairview 72, Poland 56 — The Bulldogs’ season came to an end on Saturday. Stats were not reported by print deadline. They had another solid season, finishing 18-7 and 11-1 in the Northeast 8 to claim the conference yet again.

Northeast 1
Grand Valley 71, Warren JFK 57 — Solomon Schultz led the Mustangs with 24 points, and Carter Turk finished with 23. Turk and JFK’s Preston Geracitano both scored their 1,000th career point in the game. Henry Phillips led the Eagles with 19 points, Geracitano added 17 and Andrew Lapolla finished with 13. The Mustangs will face Kirtland in the regional semifinals. Their tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Canton Memorial Fieldhouse.
BOYS BOWLING
The Division I boys bowling state championship took place on Friday at HP Lanes in Columbus. Boardman finished 15th with a team score of 3,454.
Jessy McCutcheon was the top Spartan with a 586 to finish in a tie for 39th. Ben Hildebrand came in 74th with a 489, Chase Realty was 76th with a 476, Ethan Hoffman finished 87th after scoring 354 and Collin Mertz recorded a 339 to take 88th.
Gahanna Lincoln’s Kael Clous was the top individual scorer with a 720, and Cincinnati ST. Xavier won the team championship.
The Division I girls tournament, which featured Austintown Fitch, was held on Saturday, but the OHSAA did not post the results prior to print deadline. If they are posted, they will run in an upcoming edition.
