SOFTBALL
Fitch 8, North Ridgeville 0 – Mila Hamley and Kylie Folkwein combined to strike out 11 in a no-hitter. Lily Stevens homered and drove in two for the Falcons (2-0), Abby Toth singled twice with three RBIs, Kaliana Ray singled twice and doubled with three stolen bases, Alyssa Rodgers singled twice and doubled with an RBI, Seneca Coates doubled and drove in one and Folkwein singled and doubled with an RBI.
Lakeview 13, Jefferson 1 – The Bulldogs improved to 3-1 on the season after scoring nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to break the game open. Jianna Shanker, who hit a three-run home run, finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run scored. Isabella Isenberg hit a grand slam, and Mackenzie Stowe hit a three-run home run and a single with two runs scored. Kalyssa Werner added a double and drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. Isenberg allowed one run on a solo homer and finished with six strikeouts in the complete-game two-hitter.
South Range 12, Girard 9 – South Range stormed back by scoring five runs in the top of the seventh inning. Keira Brogan went 3-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored for the Raiders. Gabby Spooner singled and doubled with an RBI and two runs scored, Angus singled with an RBI and two runs scored, Anna Aey doubled twice and Sophia Brogan drove in two. Brooklyn Broll singled twice with two RBIs to lead the Indians. Riley Collins singled and doubled with an RBI and scored twice and Quinn Wilster singled with an RBI and a run scored. Cameryn Crepage earned the win after allowing four unearned runs on four walks and two hits in 3 1/3 innings of relief. Broll took the loss after allowing five runs on one hit and five walks in 1 1/3 innings.
LaBrae 10, Brookfield 3 – Just like on Wednesday, Brookfield took an early lead but LaBrae broke the game open in the early innings. This time, the Vikings broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run third inning. Luciana Kolat was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored for the Warriors, and Madison Obermiyer drove in a run. Madison Johnson led the Vikings with two singles, three RBIs and a run scored. Leah DeArmitt was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, Riley Rowe singled twice with an RBI and a run scored and Mariah Jones doubled with an RBI and scored twice. DeArmitt was credited with the win after allowing one run on two hits, striking out four in five innings pitched. Cassie Samios took the loss after allowing four runs – three earned – on five hits and four walks in 3 1/3 innings.
