YSU loses game of runs to Milwaukee, 78-65
The Youngstown State men’s basketball team never led during Wednesday’s 78-65 road loss to Milwaukee.
Although the Penguins battled to tie the Panthers at 41 apiece early in the second half, Milwaukee proceeded to go on a 15-1 run, from which YSU never managed to completely recover despite a 12-1 ‘Guins run to pull back within three. Milwaukee subsequently iced the game with a 14-2 run down the stretch.
Cris Carroll scored a team-high 13 points, while Rich Rolf became the only other YSU player to score in double figures by finishing with 11. Rolf hit three triples on the night, but he missed six and went 4-for-13 from the field on a night he also recorded 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
YSU (15-15, 8-11 Horizon League) finishes up its regular season Saturday afternoon at Green Bay. The Penguins beat the Phoenix 88-81 in Youngstown on Jan. 22.
