BOYS BASKETBALL

Salem 64, Hubbard 61 OT — Deontay Steele scored seven of his 31 points in overtime, leading Salem to a victory in a back and forth contest. Hubbard trailed 43-35 heading into the final period, but was able to battle back behind Braydon Songer, who scored 11 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Eagles sent it to overtime tied at 54. Jack Andres came up big for Salem, scoring 20 points. For Hubbard, Jacob Hayes added 20 points, including all seven of the Eagles points in overtime.

Maplewood 60, Conneaut 24 — Steve Manes led Maplewood with 16 points. Ethan Nevinski was also in double figures with 13 points. Jacob Thompson scored 13 to lead Conneaut.

Martins Ferry 76, Columbiana 74 — Anthony Booth and Elijah Smith scored 25 points each to lead Martins Ferry to a come from behind victory. The Purple Riders trailed 44-30 at halftime and 55-49 heading into the fourth quarter. Smith scored nine in the final quarter and Booth added five points. Booth also knocked down five 3-pointers for the game. For Columbiana, Cooper Brown led with 20 points. The Clippers also got double digit scoring from Carter Johnson (16) and Zander Oliver (11).

Poland 53, Campbell 48 — Carmine Tukalo scored 23 points to lead Poland, who held off a pesky Campbell bunch. Vito Komara added nine for the Bulldogs. Campbell was led by CJ Sirigianopolus with 20 points and Jawaun Johnson with 12 points.

Lakeview 46, LaBrae 39 — After trailing by one after the first quarter, Lakeview pulled away to secure a victory over Labrae. Isaiah Lantz led the Bulldogs with 19 points, including four 3-pointers. Matt Leonard added 10 for Lakeview. LaBrae was led by Austin Rowe and Seth Howell with 10 points each.

Austintown Fitch 68, South Range 47 — Four Fitch players scored in double figures, led by EJ Giles with 26 points. Giles also knocked down four 3-pointers. Braeden Sallee (19 points), Brady Evans (12), and Anthony Waller (11) were the other Falcons to reach double digit points. South Range was led by Nick Toy, who scored a game-high 33 points and knocked down four 3-pointers.

Jackson-Milton 73, Leetonia 68 — Jackson-Milton led 54-51 going into the fourth quarter, and that’s when Jackson Horner caught fire. Horner scored 12 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter. Horner was also locked in from long range, sinking six 3-pointers. Jonny Bacon added 18 points with five threes of his own for the Blue Jays. Ethan Sokol was also hot, scoring 13. For Leetonia, Dylan Johns was one of four Bears in double figures, leading the way with 18 points. Jason King (14), Ethan Mathia (13) and Dylan Brown (12) were the others to lead the Leetonia offense.

Newton Falls 65, Rootstown 57 — Phil Davis paced Newton Falls with 17 points. Drayson Moore knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 12 overall. Dallas Dillon and Dallas Dunlap scored 11 each for the Tigers. Blake Mulloly led Rootstown with a game high 20 points. Carson Hayn and Ethan White added 12 and 10 points respectively.

Howland 57, Niles 46 — Howland’s duo of Demetri Gentis and Luca Naples scored 11 points each. Niles was led by Cash Carey-Hardin with 13 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Sebring 31, Waterloo 19 — Ava Coen scored 17 points to lead Sebring. Also in double-digit scoring for the Trojans was Raegan Wynn with 10 points.
