BOYS BASKETBALL

Ursuline 74, Howland 57 — Ursuline’s one two punch of Noah Bell and Jaylen Gunther combined for 52 points. Gunther became the Fighting Irish’s all-time leading scorer with a 25-point performance. Bell led the Irish with 27 points. Carter Saul led Howland with 12 points and Ta-Shawn Fambro added 10 for the Tigers.

Lordstown 47, Sebring 31 — Trailing 8-7 after the first quarter, Lordstown jumped out to a 22-16 halftime lead and never looked back. The Devils were led by Ganon Force with 22 points. Force scored 11 of his points in the second quarter. For Sebring, Thomas Lair led with 11 points and three 3-pointers.

Maplewood 61, Cardinal 43 — Tyson Webster and David Kern scored 15 points each for Maplewood. Steve Manes added 12 points for the Rockets. For Cardinal, Carson Davis and Joey Komandt combined for 23 points with Davis scoring 12.

Newton Falls 81, Salem 50 — Phil Davis was one of four Newton Falls players in double figures, leading the way with 19 points. Drayson Moore added 15 points with a pair of 3-pointers and the Tigers duo of Dallas Dunlap and Leland Vargo scored 11 each. The pair also knocked down three 3’s each. Deontay Steele and Jack Andres scored 14 each for Salem.

LaBrae 68, Bristol 51 — Auston Rowe scored a game high 27 points to lead LaBrae. Rowe knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and scored 12 total points in the fourth quarter. Kenny Yoho added 16 for the Vikings. Logan Briggs (11 points) and Colt Berry (10) led Bristol in scoring.

Grand Valley 64, Jefferson 58 — Solomon Schultz scored 11 points in both the first and third quarters, and scored 30 overall to help Grand Valley hold off Jefferson. Schultz sank a pair of 3-pointers as did Carter Turk, who totaled 21 for the Mustangs. Joel Navarro was the leader of Jefferson’s offense, totaling 28 points. The Falcons also got 12 points each from Dyllen Shetler and George Dzura.

Heartland Christian 61, Conotton Valley 50 — Collin Kalaher led Heartland Christian with 24 points. Brody Conaway added 15. RJ Higgenbottom led Conotton Valley with 15 points. G. Haney and K. Leggott combined for 25 points.

Monroe Central 80, Columbiana 48 — Corbin Farmsworth scored 30 to lead Monroe Central. Caedyn Silva (13 points) and Blake Vontz (11) were also in double figures. For Columbiana, Senator Johnson led with 16 points. Zander Oliver added 13 for the Clippers.

Badger 72, Western Reserve 68 — Badger battled all night in a back and forth contest, and came away with a win after trailing heading into the fourth quarter. The Braves were led by Tyler McWilliams with 22 points, including five in the fourth. Alton Winchek added 18 and Jack Harnett had 17 for Badger. Western Reserve was led by Connor Cochran with 23 points. Cochran knocked down six threes, becoming Western Reserve’s career leader in 3-point makes. Josh Klasic (17) and Nico Parris (11) were also in double figures.

South Range 63, Girard 54 — South Range was led by Tommy Titus with 24 points. Nick Toy added 19 for the Raiders. Braxton Sloan led Girard with 27 points and W. Sanders added 13.

Warren G. Harding 64, Cardinal Mooney 21 — Xavier Clark scored 14 points to lead Harding. Kai Blutcher and Myles Miller added 10 points each for the Raiders. Dante Turner led Mooney with eight points.

Campbell 63, Niles 52 — No stats were provided.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Austintown Fitch 70, Boardman 48 — Braeden Sallee led Fitch with 24 points. EJ Giles added 18 for the Falcons, including a pair of 3-pointers. Jerry Smith scored 16 to lead Boardman.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Mineral Ridge 44, Western Reserve 42 — Mineral Ridge overcame a 14-3 first quarter deficit to outlast Western Reserve. Ginna Gilbert led the way with 22 points for the Rams. Sullivan Sandy added seven points, while Kadence Conaway and Kelcee Dye scored six each for Ridge.
