BOYS BASKETBALL
Canfield 55, Howland 54 (2 OT) — Jace Ricardo scored 25 points to lead Canfield (11-2) in a tightly contested matchup. The game was tied at 41 going into overtime. Landon Shina added 11 for the Cardinals. For Howland, Luca Naples led the way with 15 points and Darren Douglas added 12.
Grand Valley 85, Badger 55 — Anthony Eason scored 20 points to lead Grand Valley’s potent offense. Eason was also hot from 3-point range, knocking down six from long range. The Mustangs also had big scoring nights from Carter Turk (18), Cooper Plizga (16), and Soloman Schultz (13). Badger had a trio of scorers in double figures, including Tyler McWilliams (19), Brody Shay (18), and Jack Harnett (13).
Ursuline 67, Smithville 37 — Noah Bell scored 21 and Jaylen Gunther added 17, as Ursulines one two punch led them to a run away victory. Alex Simon knocked down three 3’s for the Irish. Smithville was led by Brennan Piatt with 12 points.
Valley Christian 59, Leetonia 31 — Armond DuVal led Valley Christian with 14 points, including three 3-pointers. . Deion Miller added 12 for the Eagles, including three 3’s of his own. King Swiggett added 10 points. Aiden Hunter led Leetonia with 10 points.
LaBrae 68, Champion 31 — Austin Rowe scored a game high 32 points for LaBrae. Rowe knocked down eight 3-pointers for the Vikings. Kenny Yoho and Lucas Glaser added eight points each. Braylen Braham had eight points to lead Champion.
West Branch 50, Salem 20 — West Branch held Salem to just one first quarter point, en route to a big victory. The Warriors were led by Jeremiah Thomas with 26 points. Thomas knocked down five 3-pointers in the win. Deontay Steele had three 3’s and 12 points overall for Salem.
Poland 69, East 48 — Carmine Tukalo scored 31 points, leading Poland. Nick Nittoli added 12 for the Bulldogs. Kor’Dae Phifer and Tyris Davis had 14 points each for East.
Hubbard 68, Girard 65 — Jacob Hayes had 23 points to lead Hubbard in a come from behind win. The Eagles trailed 49-47 entering the fourth quarter. Braydon Songer added 20 for the Eagles. Byron Moss and Anthony Clark also reached double figures with 10 points each. Girard was led by Braxton Sloan with 31 points and Kaiden Clare with 11.
Newton Falls 67, Liberty 54 — Drayson Moore scored 19 to lead Newton Falls. Also scoring in double figures for the Tigers was Chase Clonch (13) and Phil Davis (10). Jamari Delagawl and Jimmond Moore scored 14 each for Liberty.
Warren G. Harding 72, GlenOak 56 — Tyler Smith led Harding with 24 points. Khi Blutcher added 19 and Scoop Patterson had 11.
Struthers 60, Lakeview 58 — Anthony Pastella had 16 points to lead Struthers. Ty Cole and Jimmy Shaffer added 10 points each. Isiah Lantz had 18 points to lead Lakeview. The Bulldogs also got big games from Trace Gayzvetta (17 points) and Asa Lantz (12).
South Range 64, Niles 43 — Tommy Valentine had 18 points and four 3-pointers for South Range. Nick Toy added 17 points and Tommy Titus had 14 for the Raiders. Gavin Hiscox also contributed with 11 points. Alex Doyle led Niles with 17 points and three 3’s.
Brookfield 78, Crestview 46 — Brody Smith had 18 points and 11 rebounds, recording a double-double for Brookfield. Cody Davidson (14 points), Joe Hook (13), and Blake Hammond (12) rounded out the Warriors offensive attack. Hook (3) and Hammond (2) hit multiple 3-pointers each. Crestview was led by Dylan Stoffer with 15 points and Grant Gerner with 12.
Columbiana 48, United 33 — Cooper Brown recorded a 19 point, 11 rebound double-double to lead Columbiana. Senator Johnson added 17 points for the Clippers. Jason Pratt led United with 10 points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
McDonald 47, Sebring 28 — Juliana Krumpak hit four 3-pointers, scoring 14 points overall and had five assists for McDonald. Claire O’Leary added nine points and Cierra Shiley had eight points and 12 rebounds for the Blue Devils. For Sebring, Raegan Wynn had 16 points and Keira Kemmery added 10.
