BOYS BASKETBALL
Cardinal Mooney 56, Boardman 50 — Dante Turner was one of four Mooney players to reach double figures , scoring 13 points. Ford Stacy (12), Kaden Reese (11), and Grayson DuBos (10) also reached double figures for the Cardinals. Jayce Varley had a game high 17 points for Boardman.
Alliance 76, Salem 46 — Jr Jackson scored 18 points as Alliance rolled past Salem. Parker Woods added 14 and Samuel Hays had 13 for the Aviators. Salem was led by Deontay Steele with 16 points.
LaBrae 64, Crestview 30 — Austin Rowe hit six 3-pointers and scored a game high 32 points for LaBrae. Angelo Melidono added 19 for the Vikings. Tyler Savage led Crestview with 14 points.
Girard 82, Champion 65 — Braxton Sloan dropped 16 first quarter points and 31 overall to lead Girard’s high powered offense. Allen Hess-Cardona added 13 points and AJ Pearson reached double figures with 10 points. Marky Nolan led Champion with 26 points and Braylen Braham added 17 for the Flashes.
Shenango 53, South Range 46 — Shenango’s tandem of Caleb McConnell (18) and Taegan Russo (14) led the Wildcats offense. Tommy Titus poured on 20, including three 3’s for South Range and Gavin Hiscox added 13.
Grand Valley 77, Lakeside 60 — Carter Turk knocked down five 3-pointers and 27 points overall for Grand Valley. Solomon Schultz added 15 and Evan Skitic had 14 for the Mustangs. Jarez Osborne scored 18 to lead Lakeside.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Western Reserve 60, Chalker 42 — Kylee Ramsey and Quincy Miller scored 15 points each for Western Reserve (4-0). Baylee Sinn added 13 for the Blue Devils. Tatum Hudak and Julia Ross had 11 points each for Chalker.
Newton Falls 27, Bristol 24 — Dalilah Simpson hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points to lead Newton Falls. Torrie Fanton added seven for the Tigers. Lauren Church led Bristol with eight points.
Mineral Ridge 61, Champion 41 — Sullivan Sandy (22) and Gianna Gilbert (19) led the Mineral Ridge offense. The pair made three 3’s each. Mackenzie Braham scored 14 to lead Champion.
Labrae 53, Lowellville 34 — Angel Scruggs scored 18 points for LaBrae. Riley Rowe added 12 for the Vikings. Savannah Procick scored 13 to lead Lowellville.
Erie Prep 60, Warren JFK 50 — Erie Prep had four players reach double digit scoring in their win over JFK. JFK was led by Gianna Pompelia with 23 points and Didi Ryan with 13.
Salem 65, Cardinal Mooney 29 — Abby Knickerbocker had nine rebounds for Salem. Karlie Sampson added eight assists for the Quakers.
Massillon 65, Warren Harding 54 — Delaney Peorce scored 19 points to lead Massillon. Hannah Nicola added 16 for the Tigers. Harding was led by Akeelha Barnes with 14 points. Also reaching double figures for the Raiders was Trinity Taylor (11) and Azarriah Phillips (10).
Lake Center Christian 66, Lisbon 44 — Megan Treen scored 20 to lead Lake Center Christian. Caroline Shelly added 19 and Bige Sommers had 15. Lisbon was led by Lylah Brown with 19.
WRESTLING
Howland competed at the Fitch Duals over the weekend. The Tigers defeated Dover and Akron Firestone in team competition, finishing 2-3 on the day. Too individual performers include Deacon Mock (5-0), Aidan O’Donnell (5-0), Aidan Whittenberger (4-1), Owen Dreher (4-1), and Brayden Cortese (3-2).
SWIMMING
The Howland boys and girls swim teams opened their season with third place finished in their first meet. Howland diver Alivia Dewberry placed fourth individually.
