BOYS BASKETBALL

Lakeview 73, Champion 55 — Isaiah Lantz scored a game-high 21 to lead Lakeview, including eight in a 30-point second quarter for the Bulldogs. Brandon Toot scored eight of his 12 points in the first quarter to kickstart the Lakeview offense. Preston Littleton and Trace Goyzueta added nine each. Marky Nolan and Braylen Braham matched a game high 21 points each for Champion.

Newton Falls 73, Windham 43 — Newton Falls blew the game open with a 40-point second quarter, led by Phil Davis. Davis scored 15 in the second quarter and 27 overall. Dallas Dunlap and Drayson Moore added 10 points each for the Tigers. Matt Colaczack led Windham with 22 points, while Gavin Kiser added 11 for the Bombers.

Austintown Fitch 53, Canton Central Catholic 50 — E.J. Giles scored 10 of his game-high 19 points in the first quarter to lead Fitch to a tight victory. Brady Evans knocked down three 3’s with 15 points overall for Fitch. The Falcons also got a double-digit effort from Junie Higgs with 11 points. Central Catholic was led by Jake Bowling with 12 points and Lance Vlacovsky and Will Minor with 10 points each.

From Tuesday

Niles 57, Liberty 53 — Niles pulled away late in a game that was tied at 41 late in the fourth quarter. Liberty’s Joe Croom cut it to 53-51, but Niles Alex Doyle scored two of his 11 points at the free throw line to seal the win. The Red Dragons were led in scoring by Izaiah Redd with 18 points and four assists, and Joey Lehman added 11 points. Trey Davis was strong on the glass, pulling in 12 rebounds. For Liberty, Ramsey Shari had 24 points, and Nate Yire added seven points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Beaver Local 59, Cardinal Mooney 42 — Owen Hill led Beaver Local with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks. Matt Anderson added 17 for the Beavers. Tyler Guerrieri and Ford Stacy had 10 points each for Mooney.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

South Range 64, Ursuline 54 — Gwen Lowry hit six 3-pointers, leading to a game high 26 points for South Range (2-0). Kiera Winner added 11 points, and Heidi Bartels chipped in with 10 for the Raiders. Ursuline (0-4) was led by Maizy Green with 16 points, including three from behind the arc. Dayveonna Harris and Kennedy Carpenter also reached double digits for the Irish with 10 points each.

Warren JFK 77, Boardman 54 — Didi Ryan scored 11 first-quarter points en route to a 31-point night to lead the JFK offense. Gianna Pompelia added 27 for the Eagles, including nine of her own in the first quarter. Hannah Myers added three 3-pointers and 15 points overall. For Boardman, Maddy Slevin scored 17 points with five 3’s. Jocelynn Torres chipped in with 10 points.

Salem 61, Alliance 25 — Abby Knickerbocker led Salem (3-0) with 22 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Maddy Andres added 15 for the Quakers as they remain unbeaten to start the season. Peyton Graham paced Alliance with 12 points.

Canfield 56, Cardinal Mooney 12 — Noelle Sahli led Canfield with 12 points, including a pair of 3’s. Carly Fleming added 10 points. Leading the Cardinals in rebounds was Ceci Muckleroy with five, while Lorieona Jannone and Amara Watson each had three assists. Julia Diorio led Mooney with seven points.

SWIMMING

From Tuesday

Boardman and Massillon Jackson held a dual meet Tuesday night. The Boardman boys won 101-79, while Jackson got the win on the girls’ side 98-85.
