South Range wins 6th straight district title

South Range 12, Triway 5 — The Raiders won their sixth straight district title on Wednesday. South Range started off hot and rode seven runs in the first two innings to victory over the Titans in the Division V, Northeast 1 district final at Dalton. Pacing the 10-hit South Range offense was DeJesus and Spooner with a double and single each, Brogan belted a home run and drove in three runs, Wilt homered, singled and had three RBIs and Bartels doubled and drove in three. Rupert picked up the win in the circle for South Range, tossing a complete game while allowing nine hits, no walks and striking out four. In the loss, Braunscheidel drove in two runs, Starr homered and singled, Long singled twice, Perman tallied two RBIs and K. Gatti doubled. Long was given the loss in six innings, striking out one, walking two and allowing 10 hits.
BOYS LACROSSE
St. Ignatius 15, Boardman 1 — The Wildcats scored early and often to topple the Spartans. In the loss, Kevin Montgomery found the back of the net to prevent the shutout for Boardman. In goal, Hunter Richards tallied 15 saves. St. Ignatius statistics were not submitted.
