Cardinal Mooney 9, Keystone 0 — At Mentor High School, the Cardinals captured their first distinct championship since 2013 after a standout performance from Ford Stacey. On the mound, he struck out eight and only allowed four hits and a walk in the complete game. At the plate, Stacey had three hits, including a triple, with a game-high four RBIs. Ryan Reese and Andrew Bushey also had three hits on the day, with each driving in a run and scoring three times. Will Petty had two hits and two RBIs, Vince Gentile singled and scored, and Trent Litman and Taco Verroco each singled and scored once. Mooney advances to play Waynedale in the regional semifinals on Wednesday at Massillon Washington High School. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
