DIVISION V

LaBrae 11, Columbiana 5 — The Vikings held off the Clippers 11-5 during Friday’s Division V, Northeast 4 district final at Wellington Recreational Park to capture the district championship. R. Rowe, L. DeArmitt and V. Allen each tallied three hits apiece for LaBrae, as the Vikings put up 12 total hits against Columbiana pitchers A. Brode and C. Pleska. Allen and Rowe each had a triple. C. Perkins led the Clippers with two runs, as seven others each finished with one hit. R. Rowe got the win in the circle for the Vikings, allowing nine hits with 11 strikeouts and four walks.

DIVISION VII

Cuyahoga Heights 5, Maplewood 2 — The Rockets’ season came to an end Friday at the hand of the Redwolves in the Northeast 3 Division VII district final. S. Sane picked up the win in the circle for Cuyahoga Heights, fanning four, walking four and allowing six hits in the complete-game win. At the plate for the Redwolves, G. Presot doubled and singled, A. Williams belted a home run, singled twice and drove in three runs while N. Reyes singled twice. A. Marker was given the loss for Maplewood, striking out 13, walking one while giving up nine hits in seven innings. At the plate, C. Urchek singled twice and Marker doubled.

DIVISION V

Cardinal Mooney 14, Liberty 0 (5 inn) — The Cardinals claimed a Division V sectional final contest Friday with a thrashing of the Leopards offensively while the pitching staff kept Liberty to one hit. B. Oddis picked up the win in two innings, striking out four, walking none and allowing the lone hit. At the dish for Mooney, K. Reese tripled and singled, F. Stacy tripled, singled and drove in three runs and W. Petty legged out a triple. For Liberty, B. Clayton was given the loss in an inning, striking out one, walking four and allowing four hits.

DIVISION VII

Warren JFK 5, Cardinal 0 — The Eagles blanked the Huskies in a Division VII sectional final thanks to a strong start from Freddy Bolchalk. The starter picked up 11 strikeouts and allowed one hit in the complete-game shutout. At the dish, Dom Ryan doubled and drove in two runs, Michael Bartoe collected a pair of hits and drove in two while Ryan Carfangia added a pair of hits. For Cardinal, Carter Tucker was given the loss in five innings, striking out two, walking four and allowing nine hits.

Waterloo 18, Lowellville 6 (6 inn.) — The Vikings claimed a Division VII sectional final over the Rockets thanks to eight runs in the fourth frame. Pacing the Waterloo offense was V. Mori with a pair of singles and three RBIs, T. Simons doubled, singled and drove in three, A. May doubled and J. Fortney singled twice and had four RBIs. M. Biltz earned the win in four innings, striking out four, walking one and allowing 11 hits. For Lowellville in the loss, G. Perry had three singles, L. Bartlett singled twice, K. Smith drove in three runs, T. Tuscano doubled and singled twice and Z. Sargent had a pair of singles.

Non-tournament

Warren G. Harding 3, Howland 2 — In a tournament tune-up matchup, the Raiders held off the Tigers 3-2. Khalef Freeman earned the win on the mound for Harding with two strikeouts and one walk, while S. Gryzelewski took the loss for the Tigers with one strikeout and a walk. Bryttain Fuller and Jacob Borsic each belted a pair of hits for Harding, as Airiz Coleman-Bey and Corey Kuhn hit doubles. R. Ansel led Howland with two hits.
