Northeast 4

Austintown Fitch 11, Stow-Munroe Falls — In a district semifinal, Kourtney Fedorek and Abby Toth combined to throw a one-hitter for the Falcons. Toth led the Falcons’ offense with a home run and four RBIs. Kaliana Ray also homered and drove in two, Alyssa Rodgers singled twice with four stolen bases, Morgan Robuy singled with a sacrifice RBI and Kylie Folkwein drove in a pair. Lexi Watson recorded the lone hit for Munroe Falls, a solo home run in the top of the first inning. The Falcons will face Canton McKinley or Strongsville in the district final on Wednesday. The McKinley-Strongsville result was not posted to the OHSAA website as of print deadline.

DIVISION V

Northeast 2

South Range 12, Keystone 2 (5 inn.) — The Raiders exploded for 13 hits and toppled the Wildcats. Nearly all South Range batters tallied a hit but the charge was led by DeJesus with three singles, Wilt doubled and drove in three, Aey had three doubles and RBis while Bartels doubled, singled and drove in two runs. Rupert picked up the win in the circle for South Range, fanning five, walking zero and surrendering three hits in five innings. In the loss, Owca doubled, singled and drove in two runs while Foster lent a double. Modock was given the loss in three innings, striking out two, walking two and allowing 10 hits. The Raiders will take on Wooster Triway in the district final on Wednesday.

Northeast 3

Champion 6, Liberty 0 — In a district semifinal contest, the Golden Flashes blanked the Leopards thanks to a 20-strikeout performance by Gabby Gradishar. The fireballer allowed one hit and one walk in the contest. At the plate, Josie Perhach doubled twice, Ava Sylvester tripled and singled and Taylor Rouan, Sam Strock and Maddie Sylvester each doubled. For Liberty, Strohmeyer was given the loss, striking out four and walking one. Champion will take on Poland in the district final Wednesday.

Poland 11, Pymatuning Valley 5 — Thanks to eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, a half-frame after giving the Lakers leveled the contest, the Bulldogs claimed the playoff contest. Sparking the 12-hit offense was Elliana Thompson with a triple and single, Lillian McDonald homered, doubled and drove in five runs, Sydney Bulick doubled and drove in two runs, Lilly Madeline doubled and singled and Madison Medvec singled twice. Medvec also earned the win in the circle, tossing a complete game in which she struck out five, walked none and allowed nine hits. In the loss, McKenna Jordan doubled and singled while Allison Clark, Mackenzie Kribbs and Nataleigh Haines all singled twice. Peyton Hudson was given the loss in 3 1/3 innings, striking out one, walking five and scattering 10 hits. Poland will play Champion for the district title on Wednesday.

Northeast 4

LaBrae 8, Girard 6 — The Vikings stymied a late-inning surge from the Indians to hold on and claim the win. Charging the LaBrae offense was Riley Rowe with a double and single, Leah DeArmitt singled twice, Morgan Thompson doubled, singled and drove in two runs and Makenzie Lichty doubled. Rowe earned the win in six innings, striking out seven, walking two and allowing five hits. In the loss at the plate, Quinn Wilster tripled and singled and Gianna Saxon doubled and singled. Chloe Plant was given the loss for Girard, striking out three, walking two and allowing nine hits in 5 1/3 innings. The Vikings will face the winner of Columbiana-Tuslaw on Wednesday. The Clippers’ game against Tuslaw is set for today in Columbiana.

DIVISION VI

Northeast 1

Crestview 10, Mineral Ridge 5 — The Rebels upset the fourth-seeded Rams Monday in a district semifinal contest. In the loss at the plate, Sullivan Sandy doubled and added another hit, Kelcee Dye and Maddie Gerberry both doubled and Savannah Turek drilled a pair of hits while Laney Rigley drove in three runs. Lily Merolillo was given the loss after 5 2/3 innings, striking out three. Crestview statistics were not submitted. The Rebels will cross paths with Jeromesville Hillsdale for the district crown on Wednesday.

Northeast 3

McDonald 6, United 3 — Stats were not reported. The Blue Devils will face Mogadore in the district title on Wednesday.

DIVISION VII

Northeast 1

Badger 7, Brookfield 6 — Both teams plated four in the sixth innings but the Braves earned the slim win over the Warriors thanks to already leading by one when the scoring started. Sparking the 14-hit Badger offense was Samantha Bradbury with two singles, Madison Lindus singled three times and drove in two runs and Kiyah Scharfenberg was a perfect 4-for-4 with four singles and three RBIs. Bradbury picked up the complete-game win, striking out four, walking one and allowing eight hits. For Brookfield, Mya Jumpertripled, singled and drove in two runs, Madison Obermiyer added a pair of RBIs and Madisyn Fisher singled twice. Obermiyer went the distance and was given the loss, fanning four, walking two and allowing 14 hits. The Braves will take on top-seeded Mathews on Wednesday for the district title.

Mathews 12, Windham 2 — In a district semifinal, the Mustang bats were too much for Windham. Kennedy Newsom doubled and singled with two runs scored. Kelsie Newsom had two hits and two RBIs, Allie Ramsey doubled twice with two RBIs, Maddy Hufford doubled with a pair driven in and Sara Geilhard doubled with two more RBIs. Ashia Pate picked up the win, striking out eight. Windham stats were not provided. The Mustangs will face Badger in the district championship on Wednesday.

Northeast 2

St. John 10, Jackson-Milton 5 — Stats were not reported.

Chalker 7, Lowellville 1 — In a district semifinal, the Wildcats utilized a strong offensive showing to topple the Rockets. The 13-hit Chalker offense was led by Morgan Strock with a pair of singles while Abby Grimm tripled, singled and drove in two runs, Riley Ashcraft belted a home run, singled and drove in two runs, Tatum Hudak doubled twice and Bailey Ann Bussey doubled, singled and drove in two runs. Hudak earned the complete-game win with 11 strikeouts while allowing a walk and five hits. In the loss, Alyssa Kuzan doubled and Laila Rivera singled twice. Morgan Lewis was given the loss in six innings, fanning six, walking one and allowing 13 hits.

Northeast 3

Maplewood 4, Rittman 0 — A dominant outing in the circle and an early lead made the difference for the Rockets in the win over the Indians. Addison Marker fanned 13 in the shutout win while allowing two free passes and four hits in seven innings. At the dish, Marker helped her cause with a home run, triple and four RBIs while Lauran Krieg singled twice. In the loss, Tyree singled twice. Halliwell was given the loss in six innings, striking out eight, walking one and allowing six hits. The Rockets will see Cuyahoga Heights in the district final on Wednesday.

Cuyahoga Heights 16, Sebring 0 — Stats were not reported.

REGULAR SEASON

Howland 21, Warren G. Harding 0 (5 inn.) — The Tigers made a statement in the opening frame with 12 runs and kept the Raiders off the scoreboard to pull off the crushing win. Leading the Howland hit parade was Mary Moy with a triple, single and two RBIs, Brianna Deeter belted a home run, three singles and drove in two runs, Madison Schmitz added a pair of RBIs, Maya Kubancsek doubled, singled and had two RBIs, Brooke Tatar homered, singled twice and drove in five and Calleigh Luman singled twice and tallied three RBIs. Kubancsek kept the Harding bats at bay, earning the win in three innings with four strikeouts while walking two and allowing two hits. For Harding, Karly Trisler was given the loss in 3 2/3 innings, striking out two, walking three and allowing 12 hits.

BASEBALL

Poland 4, South Range 3 — The Bulldogs found themselves down two headed into the final half inning but battled back to earn the walk off win over the Raiders. Leading the comeback at the plate was Tyson Tarajack with a home run, double, single and three RBIs while Jacob Hayes tripled. Stephen Kopkash picked up the win in relief, tossing the final two frames while allowing three hits and one walk. In the loss, Hiscox singled twice and Nagy doubled. Hiscox was also given the loss in 1 2/3 innings, striking out one, walking none and allowing three hits.

Springfield 9, Jackson-Milton 8 — The Tigers walked off the Blue Jays in dramatic fashion as Jackson Ensley drove home the winning run with two outs in the final frame. Charging the walk off win at the plate was Noah Troggio with two hits and four stolen bases, Ensley with a pair of hits and RBIs and Ben Catlos with two RBIs. Alec Fusco was given the win in relief, throwing 2/3 of an inning. In the loss, Dom Krol and Jaiden Scott each tallied two hits while James Croyle doubled twice and Jaidyn Henry tallied a pair of hits and two RBIs. Jack McDevitt was given the loss in relief, tossing 2/3 of an inning.

Garfield 6, Champion 1 — The G-Men took a slim lead to open the game and added on with five runs in the middle innings to top the Golden Flashes Monday. At the plate, Garfield was headed by Hill with a triple and single while Cardinal and Warnick both singled twice and Norton drove in two runs. Hill also picked up the complete-game win, fanning 15 while walking four and allowing two hits. Howell was given the loss in five innings, striking out seven, walking two and surrendering nine hits.

Fitch 8, Girard 6 — After surrendering the lead by giving up four runs in the bottom of the fifth, the Falcons answered back the very next half inning, plating four runs of their own to regain the lead and ultimately claim the contest over the Indians. Leading the Fitch offense was Jackson Cheeks with a solo home run while Mason Petridis doubled and Carter Owens and Gavin Loomis both drove in two runs. Petridis was given the win in relief, throwing five innings in which he struck out seven, walkied seven and allowed three hits. For Girard, Ja’den Royal doubled while Kaiden Clare drove in two runs. Royal was given the loss in relief, striking out one, walking three and allowing a hit in one inning.

Howland 4, Ursuline 1 — In a close contest, the Tigers pulled out the win over the Irish. Pacing Howland at the dish was Keaton Perry with a double, Aidan Anders doubled and drove in two runs while Richie Ansel tallied two hits. Elliot Gebhardt picked up the win for the Tigers, allowing three hits, two walks and striking out five in six innings. For Ursuline, Thomas Kosovan was given the loss after one inning, striking out and walking one while surrendering four hits.

Lakeview 4, Warren G. Harding 1 — The Raiders leveled the game with a run in the fourth inning but the Bulldogs took the lead with three runs in the sixth and held on to claim the contest. Pacing the Lakeview offense was Isaiah Lantz with a double and single. Brandon Toot earned the win in relief, tossing the final 2 1/3 innings, striking out one, walking none and allowing two hits. In the loss, Jacob Borsic and Airiz Coleman Bey both doubled. Gummy Hart was given the loss in six innings, striking out three, walking none and scattering six hits.

Newton Falls 6, Crestview 2 — The Tigers scored at least one run in five innings and kept the Rebels off the scoreboard to earn the win. Leading the 12-hit Newton Falls offense was Leland Vargo with a double and two singles, Cameron Huff added three singles, Georgie Phillips drove in two runs and Hunter Persin added a pair of RBIs. Huff was also the winning pitcher, tossing a complete game while striking out eight, walking two and allowing seven hits. In the loss, Isaac Unkefer and Luke Julian both singled twice while Eli Cope doubled. Julian was given the loss in three innings, striking out two, walking none and allowing six hits.

Warren JFK 12, St. Thomas Aquinas 0 (6 inn.) — Five runs in the first inning set the tone for the Eagles in the win while the pitching staff kept the Knights at bay and off the scoreboard. Bolchalk is credited with the win, striking out seven while his only blemish in three innings was one hit. At the plate, LaPolla and Carfangia both drove in two runs while Bolchalk helped his cause with a pair of singles and RBIs.For the Knights, Taschwer was given the loss in three innings, walking five, striking out none and surrendering four hits.

McDonald 15, Lowellville 3 (5 inn.) — The Blue Devils plated four to open the game and cruised to the dominant win over the Rockets. Leading McDonald was Nate Metzinger with a pair of RBIs, Brady Klockner singled twice and had four RBIs, Quinn Schmidt had three RBIs and Nicke Larson added a pair of RBIs while Anthony Larson added two singles. Chayse Hickox was credited with the win in 1 1/3 innings, striking out three, walking two and allowing a hit. In the loss, Cody Nolfi doubled, singled and drove in two runs while Anthony Kacir doubled. Liam Bartlett was given the loss in one inning, striking out one, walking three and allowing two hits.
