SOFTBALL
West Branch 14, Alliance 6 — The Warriors’ bats were hot Friday in the big win over the Aviators to earn their fourth consecutive win. Pacing the 17-hit West Branch offense was Zoey Carreon with three singles and a pair of RBIs, Ellie Tucker tripled, had three more hits and drove in two runs while Zoe Metzger, Josie Milliken and Carly Loper each had two RBIs and Addi Craven and Libbie Davis tallied two hits each. Klary McKay picked up the win, surrendering two hits, walking two and striking out two in three innings. In the loss, Tasia Hendershot and Alexa Brown each tallied a pair of hits with the former driving in two runs and Cheyanne Hendershot tallied two RBIs for Alliance. Lilliana White was given the loss in relief, throwing 3 1/3 innings while giving up nine hits, walking one and striking out zero.
Fitch 13, Paul VI (Va.) 2 (5 inn.) — The Falcons opened the contest with three runs and it was smooth sailing from there in the crushing win. Leading the 13-hit offense was Kaliana Ray with a home run and two singles, Alyssa Rodgers followed suit with a home run, two singles and two RBIs, Morgan Roby drove in three runs and Abby Toth belted a home run, tripled and had three RBIs. Tori Greathouse picked up the win in the circle for Fitch.
LaBrae 8, Wickliffe 3 — The Vikings did all of their scoring in the first three innings and staved off the Blue Devil’s bats to earn the win, LaBrae’s eleventh consecutive win. At the plate for LaBrae, Riley Rowe doubled twice and singled, Shelby Bragg and Madison Johnson each singled twice, Leah DeArmitt drove in a pair of runs and Vada Allen tallied a trio of singles and RBIs. Rowe tossed a complete game to pick up the win, fanning 12, walking four and surrendering seven hits. For Wickliffe offensively, Maddie Kita singled three times and Leigha Blazetic belted a home run and drove in two runs. Blazetic was also given the loss in the circle, throwing seven innings in which she struck out 10, walked one and allowed 12 hits.

Columbiana 11, Beaver Local 2 — The Clippers tamed the Beavers thanks to six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and an explosion of hits. Columbiana recorded 16 hits and was led by Max Conway with a double, single and two RBIs, Reese Roush singled four times and drove in two runs, Dan Goehring lent a pair of singles, Hunter Davanzo doubled, singled and drove in two runs and Sam Inboden doubled and singled twice. Avery Young picked up the complete-game win, fanning eight while walking five and allowing four hits. In the loss, Isaac Dailey singled twice. Britton Hickman was given the loss in 4 2/3 innings, striking out three, walking one and allowing 14 hits.
Girard 8, Anderson County (Tenn.) 2 — The Girard offense tallied 12 hits in the win over the Mavericks, scoring most of their runs in the latter half of the contest. The offensive explosion was headed by Will Hynes with a quartet of singles, Zach Ward added a double, single and three RBIs and Evan Tuttle lent three singles. Dom Tolone was given the win, tossing four innings with four strikeouts, four walks and three hits. In the loss, Reece Wilkerson doubled and singled while Tripp Haire added a double. Easton Beaty was given the loss, striking out four, walking two and allowing three hits through three innings on the bump.
Anderson County (Tenn.) 12, Girard 2 (6 inn.) — The Mavericks started the game hot with four runs in the first inning and sailed to the win over the Indians. Anderson County was led offensively by Nilan Benson with a pair of singles and RBis, Jeremiah Owens with a double and two RBIs, Wil Ridenour added three singles and Jackson Harris belted a solo home run. Clay Fletcher earned the win in 5 1/3 innings, fanning eight, walking one and allowing seven hits. For Girard, Zach Ward doubled and singled twice while Dom Phillips lent a double. Ricky Plant was given the loss in five innings, striking out three, walking three and surrendering nine hits.
Lowellville 8, Brookfield 6 — The Rockets plated three runs in the bottom of the third then matched the Warriors’ scoring equally in the following innings to hold onto the two-run lead and earn the win. The Rockets only accounted for four hits, but Cody Nolfi and Liam Bartlett drove in three and two runs, respectively. Braylon Bolger picked up the win in four innings, walking one, allowing seven hits and striking out none. For Brookfield, Blake Hammond singled twice and drove in two runs, Devan Reardon had two RBIs while Josh Rankin, Brayden Sangregorio and Joe Hook each singled twice, Bray Coleman was given the loss in 3 2/3 innings, striking out three, walking six and allowing a pair of hits.

Gilmour Academy 11, Boardman 6 — The Spartans trailed by two going into the half but Gilmour Academy caught fire in the second half and kept the Boardman offense at bay. In the loss, Emerson Hare scored twice, Tony Pinciaro lent a goal while Luke DeJoseph, Kevin Montgomery and Ashton Hoover scored as well. Hoover, Hunter Richards and Eric Lenhart all tallied assists. In goal, Richards recorded eight saves and Brennan Wittman lent two.
