BOYS BASKETBALL

Canfield 47, Salem 23 — The top-seeded Cardinals toppled the Quakers in Tuesday’s Division IV district semifinal game. Leading the charge for Canfield was Drew Shapiro and Bryce Roberts with nine points each. For Salem, Cletis Monroy led with seven points in the loss. Canfield will take on West Branch Saturday in the district final.

Avon 73, Boardman 67 — The Eagles claimed the Division II district semifinal contest, upsetting the Spartans Tuesday night.

Campbell 83, Columbiana 48 — The Red Devils pulled out the upset over the Clippers in dominant fashion in Tuesday’s Division VI district semifinal. Josue Rodriguez sank six three-pointers on his way to a game-leading 28 points for Campbell, Jared Colon added another four triples en route to 16 points for the victors and Teyon Harris added 15. For Columbiana, Carter Johnson and Brayden Clancy each tallied nine points to lead the Clippers in the loss. Campbell will square up against LaBrae Saturday in the district final.

Kirtland 69, McDonald 47 — The Hornets cruised past the Blue Devils in the Division VI district semifinal Tuesday. No statistics for either team were submitted.

Hawken 84, Ursuline 66 — The nine-seeded Hawks upset the Fighting Irish Tuesday night and cruised to the Division IV district semifinal win. For Hawken, Greg Price hauled in a game-high 28 points, Ice Taylor tallied 16 and the duo of Daron Hill and David Grajzl each recorded 14 points to round out the Hawks’ leading scorers. In the loss, Jaylen Gunther and Noah Bell shared leading scorer duties for Ursuline with 23 points while DaShaun Will added 10.

LaBrae 70, Springfield 34 — The Vikings breezed past Springfield Tuesday night to claim the Division VI district semifinal. All five scorers for LaBrae tallied double-digit points, but Derek Wilson led the charge with 18 points while Austin Rowe added 17, Owen Boone contributed 14, Dan McLaughlin chipped in 11 and Lucas Glass leveled the Vikings’ leading scorers with 10 points. For Springfield, Aiden Appel and Carson Cunningham each tallied 11 points to lead in the loss. LaBrae will take on Campbell in the district final.

Dalton 56, Newton Falls 48 — The Bulldogs claimed the upset over the Tigers in Tuesday’s Division VI district semifinal contest. Leading the offensive charge for Dalton was Brady Hignight with 21 points behind three made triples, Matthew Heatwolf added 10 and Coy Wenger lent 11 in the win. For Newton Falls, Phil Davis paced the Tigers with 18 points and Travis Tursack added 10 more in the loss. Dalton will take on Grand Valley in Saturday’s district final.

Grand Valley 57, Cuyahoga Heights 44 — The Mustangs topped the Red Wolves Tuesday night to advance to the Division VI district final. Carter Turk exploded for a game-high 30 points for Grand Valley while Braden Hart added 14 in the win. For Cuyahoga Heights, Maurice McClardy led with 22 points and Brody Boyert lent 11 in the loss.

West Branch 44, West Geauga 39 — The Warriors handled the Wolverines in Tuesday’s Division IV district semifinal contest. No statistics for either team were submitted. West Branch will face off against Canfield in the district final.
