BOYS BASKETBALL
Campbell 74, Girard 54 — The Red Devils walloped the Indians behind a 40-point performance by Josue Rodriguez, who led all scoring. Jared Colon lent an additional 19 points to lead Campbell. For Girard, Dom Phillips led the Indians with 12 points, and Dom Tolone, AJ Pearson and Allen Hess-Cardona each added 10 points in the loss.
Boardman 64, Uniontown Lake 60 — The Spartans held off Uniontown Lake 64-60. Terrell McDowell led Boardman with 64 points in the victory.
Columbiana 78, Jackson-Milton 57 — The Clippers crushed the Blue Jays thanks to the duo of Seth Struharik and Senator Johnson who recorded 29 and 21 points, respectively. Rounding out the leading scorers for Columbiana was Cooper Brown with 10 points. For Jackson-Milton, Ryen Romigh tallied a game-high 39 points behind seven buckets from beyond the arc.
Grand Valley 76, Pymatuning Valley 60 — Carter Turk hauled in a game-high 32 points to propel the Mustangs to the win over their rivals. Solly Schultz added 20 to round out the Grand Valley scoring leaders. For Pymatuning Valley, Ryan Croston tallied 20 points and Tyler Britton added 18 to lead the Lakers.
New Castle (Pa.) 84, Kennedy 52 — The Hurricanes dominated the Eagles and claimed the 32-point win with ease. A host of Hurricanes lent a hand in the win, but the team was led by Kai Cox with 28 points, Ralphie Blundo added 19 and Damian Harrison collected 10. In the loss, Kennedy was led by Nick Ryan with 19 points and Henry Phillips with 15.
Lakeview 52, Liberty 39 — The Bulldogs steamed past the Leopards en route to their first win of the season. For Lakeview, Carter Doran and Isaiah Lantz each recorded 13 points to lead the Bulldogs and Leo Parise rounded out the leading scorers with 11 points. In the loss, Liberty was led by Evan Bates with a game-high 17 points.
Canfield 63, Holy Name 59 — The Cardinals pulled out the win over the Green Wave behind strong performances by Ben Weaver, Drew Shapiro and Bryce Roberts who tallied 16, 12 and 10 points, respectively. For Holy Name, Drew Styers collected a game-high 34 points to lead the Green Wave.
Southern 78, Sebring 55 — The Indians earned their first win of the season with a thrashing of the Trojans. Braxton Sloan collected 22 points to claim top-scorer credits, while Landen Heffner added 16 points and Mason Pitts leveled the Southern scoring leaders with 14. In the loss, Kaleb Rowles and Tre Stevens each tallied 16 points and Thomas Lair lent 10 points for Sebring.
Niles 45, LaBrae 44 — In a close contest, the Red Dragons earned a tough win over the Vikings. Avon Fryer led Niles with 13 points. For LaBrae, Derek Wilson scored a game-high 16 points and Dan McLaughlin added 11.
Harding 78, East 38 — The Raiders throttled the Golden Bears and rolled to a 40-point win. Chaz Coleman led all scorers with 16 points for Harding, while Myles Miller added 13 points to round out Harding’s leading scorers. For East, Tyris Davis led with 15 points and Michael Brogdon tallied 10 points in the loss.
Newton Falls 46, Hubbard 39 — The Tigers topped the Eagles to earn their second win of the season. For Newton Falls in the win, Cameron Huff tallied a team-high 17 points and Landon McGregor was right behind with 16 points. For Hubbard, Braydon Songer led with a game-high 19 points.
Canton Central Catholic 86, Fitch 66 — The Crusaders crushed the Falcons to claim a 20-point victory. In the win, Luke Vlacovsky led with 28 points while Lance Vlacovsky added 16 and Jonathan Stangl collected 10. For Fitch, Marcel Finkley handled leading-scorer duties with 20 points and Carter Owens added 12 points.
Ursuline 83, Struthers 51 — The Irish cruised to a dominant win over the Wildcats thanks in part to 30 points from Jace Riccardo and 27 from Noah Bell. Jaylen Gunther added 17 points for Ursuline to round the scoring leaders. For Struthers, Tyzjere Prize tallied 14 points and Gionni Stewart collected 12.
Maplewood 58, Badger 53 — The Rockets earned a hard-fought win over the Braves to claim their first victory of the season. For the victors, Steve Manes recorded a game-high 19 points to lead Maplewood. For Badger in the loss, Alton Winchek and Lewis Flowers each recorded 17 points.
Leetonia 44, Academy for Urban Scholars 12 — The Bears dominated the Hawks in the 32-point win. For Leetonia in the win, Carson Brock hauled in 12 points to earn leading scorer credits. In the loss, Malachi Taylor led with six points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Crestview 67, Springfield 24 — The Rebels cruised to a dominant win over the Tigers. In the loss, Jameka Brungard led with eight points. Crestview statistics were not submitted.
Bristol 55, Windham 31 — The Panthers pummeled the Bombers to earn the win. Handling leading scorer duties for Bristol was Lauren Church with 17 points, while Peyton Gall added 13 and Sammy Mansfield tallied 11 points. In the loss, Brielle Jones tallied a game-high 19 points.
