The Mahoning Valley Scrappers defeated the West Virginia Black Bears 6-1 on Tuesday to open their two-game road series.

Despite the Black Bears scoring first with a run in the first inning, the Scrappers scored three runs in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth inning to pull away.

Jaden Agassi got the win after he threw 7.1 innings, giving up just one hit while striking out eight.

Tripp Clark hit a solo home run in the eighth inning for the Scrappers’ final run of the game.

The Scrappers finish their two game series at West Virginia tonight at 7 p.m. before returning to Eastwood Field on Thursday for a two-game home series with the Black Bears.
