Missouri Valley Football Conference announces league slate

YOUNGSTOWN — The Missouri Valley Football Conference announced Monday its league slates for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

The schedules were updated due to the addition of Murray State to the conference, which brought membership to 12.

With the new changes, teams will play eight league games per season. MVFC members are guaranteed to play each other at least four times out of every six seasons.

In 2023, YSU will visit Northern Iowa on Sept. 30, host Southern Illinois on Oct. 7, visit South Dakota on Oct. 14, host Illinois State on Oct. 21, host Missouri State on Oct. 28, visit Indiana State on Nov. 4, host South Dakota State on Nov. 11 and visit Murray State on Nov. 18. Youngstown State will not face Northern Dakota, North Dakota State or Western Illinois in 2023.

In 2024, the Penguins visit Missouri State on Oct. 5, host Murray State on Oct. 12, host South Dakota on Oct. 19, visit Illinois State on Oct. 26, host UNI on Nov. 2, visit Southern Illinois on Nov. 9, host Indiana State on Nov. 16 and travel to South Dakota State on Nov. 23. As it is in 2023, YSU will not face UND, NDSU or WIU in 2024.
