When 47 wanted to make Canada the 51st state of America, Canada fought back. As retribution, 47 levied exorbitant tariffs, up to 50%, on Canadian imports, essentially huge taxes on Americans. He claimed we do not need Canada, a lie! US gets vital minerals, auto parts, lumber, aluminum and steel from Canada. There is NO valid reason to destroy our years of friendship, relations and trade with our bordering neighbor just for ignorant spite or self-enrichment. Again, 47 has damaged relations with allies near and far.

The Kennedy Center is a MEMORIAL to JFK, a beloved president. This is a law passed by Congress as the cultural center for the American people and $257 million is allotted for repairs/updates. The disaster began when 47 added his name to the building without authorization. He took over as director, fired the majority of the BIPARTISAN Board and replaced them with his sycophants, including two from Fox. Given 47's conduct, multiple scheduled programs withdrew their performances in protest against Trump! Joyce Beatty thankfully filed suit and won!

If we are the biggest producers of oil in the world, instead of building a stupid ballroom and an egotistical arch, take those millions of dollars and build more refineries. Then we would never have to depend on the Middle East to keep our gas prices low.

Data centers are the current bogeyman and Brown says Husted is responsible for them in Ohio, ignoring he was A SENATOR, etc., during the building of almost every data center. My prediction is, if Dems win the mid-terms OR Trump says data centers are bad, the media and Dems will suddenly find how valuable they are and be all for them (thus the moratoriums).

As Mill Creek Park recently announced, today will start the bow-and-arrow hunting of the remaining deer in Mill Creek Park. Over 200 permits will be issued. In addition to this, USDA sharpshooters will be killing 50 deer on the golf course at night while the deer are bedded. Deer of all ages will be killed to get the quota. After this they will more than likely ask for more. As said by park director Aaron Young, this will continue in perpetuity.

A Vindy article on 9/19/26 states that Issue 3, requiring all voters to provide a photo ID, "may be odd but merits support." Why? For decades, no fraud in Ohio. Prove that there's a problem first! Don't institute a Jim Crow 2.0 law because you want to increase confidence. 45/47 and MAGA will continue to beat the same drum because the goal is to reduce the votes of minorities, the poor, students, homeless and women. As 45/47 recently said to MAGA, "cheat" if you have to.

By their performances at Trumppalooza, GOP congressmen showed their party to be the camp meeting version of "big tent" religion in a 1960 movie of Sinclair Lewis's novel. Trump believes that you are just like him, FOR SALE. His promise to pay rally goers $5,000 each IF his candidates win office in the midterms is as worthless as his Cabinet. If he pays, he regularly stiffs those who trust him, payment will be with your tax dollars. Meanwhile, the corrupt felon will grift more billions to go with those he's already stolen. Take the bait, but cover your ears against the laughter from the gilded ballroom while you wait for your check.

Politicians running for office spend millions of dollars buying those nauseating attack ads that we've been bombarded with since January. They should know that most of us have tuned out those ads months ago since they are full of lies and misinformation on both sides. What motivates these people to spend millions for a job that doesn't pay nearly that much? Power? Greed? Perks? Many Americans are struggling to pay their basic living expenses while politicians waste money that could be used for the people they claim to represent.

NOW our immature, thin-skinned President has banned three news organizations from the White House because he doesn't like that they tell the truth about him. He only wants complimentary stories because he's a child. No other President has done this, but of course, his sycophantic staff argues it's not unconstitutional. So illustrious, god-fearing Mark Hanni wants a tax break for land he owns. The auditor removed agriculture property tax reductions because Hanni didn't meet the requirements and never filed the required forms. Ralph Meacham says Hanni repeatedly didn't respond. Hanni also got the reduction for a number of years. Come on, Mark. You pretend to be a judge that is supposed to know the LAW and pass judgment on others. But Hanni claims it's a farm. There is NO farming on the land.

The paving and lane reduction changes on Glenwood Avenue in Boardman is a needed improvement. These changes alone would have made Glenwood a safer roadway. However, the addition of the roundabout at Glenwood and Wildwood Drive is an unnecessary expenditure of $7 million and an eyesore to the residential neighborhood in which it is being constructed.

The recent decision by Youngstown City Council to not provide financial assistance to the Cornersburg Sparkle Market, one of the only remaining grocery stores in the city, was a short-sighted mistake. I suspect that if a weed dispensary or brewery were asking for financial help, City Council would have voted differently.
