I am disappointed that The Vindicator would publish such a bigoted article as that written by Victor Hanson on 8/22/26. He ignores Jim Crow, red-lining, last hired first fired, the education gap, poor health care, the war on drugs, poor schools' vs. rich schools, infantile mortality, etc. Boardman students will score higher than Youngstown school students on the SAT because of their wealth and where they live, not the color of their skin or gender. The Vindy can do better than this.

As the Capitol and the White House sit at higher elevations than the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pond, overflow and run-off may explain the chronic buildup of pond slime.

Regarding childhood diseases, to all parents of young children: please do not fail to get their vaccines. Please consult your pediatricians. Please believe facts over falsehoods and allow your children safe health growing up. These medical conditions were eradicated by vaccines. It could prove disastrous to have them reemerge.

Given Trump's SNAFUed fiscal, military, and civil policies plus the silent majority (aka GOP) and the lackluster performance of the DNC, maybe we should look to broaden our 2028 field of independent candidates for election. I wonder if Canada's Prime Minister, Mark Carney would consider a write-in spot on the ballot. He could make Mara Lago a province and put a fence around it to stop the escape of waste, fraud and abuse.

If any politician in the area being mayor, congressman or governor does not stand up for all the taxpayers, homeowners and residents of any city, township or village with a data center pushing its way in, realize it should without a doubt be voted on. Get it on the ballot. Let the people decide No further argument.

Most of us agree with the political ad that says 'Ohioans are disgusted with what's going on.' However, if we want to see change, why would we stick with the party that has orchestrated the current economic state? Wouldn't a refresh in state leadership be the best option for changing the state's direction? What is that old saying of 'making the same choices over and over and expecting a different result?'

Once again Mill Creek MetroParks will hunt the deer in our taxpayer-funded park. They've made it clear that this will go on indefinitely. With 14.9 deer per square mile it won't go on for long until there are no deer left. Sharpshooters will be coming in at night, baiting the deer and killing them while they're sleeping, all ages of deer being targeted. Attend the park board meetings, speak your mind, voice your opinion and let them know that you value wildlife and to stop destroying our park.

The U.S. Postal Service is damaging my credit score. Recently it took two weeks for a check to get to Pittsburgh, Of course now I show a late payment! I have mailed checks that have never shown up and also have had my Vndy come 2-3 days late. Price goes up, service gets worse. What's up?????

Trump's net worth is roughly $6.5 billion. Do you think he cares about the price of gas, groceries, health care, etc? He mocks the word "affordability. Only a small percentage of MAGA voters are millionaires, who don't care about high prices. The rest are suffering just like those who didn't vote for him. Now here comes Ramaswamy worth $2-3 billion. I'm sure he'll be concerned with the problems of you and I, just like Trump! Please consider this when you cast your ballot!
