DEAR EDITOR:

I had been worrying that 47’s specious deployments of federalized National Guards as well as masked secret police of ICE were actually war game practice for midterm and 2028 elections. When he suggested to a mandatory gathering of all military flag officers during his Quantico presentation that they should use U.S. cities as practice grounds for troop training, I felt he confirmed my suspicion.

His purpose in sending uniformed people with military weapons to Los Angeles, D.C., Chicago and Portland against the objections of their mayors and state governors is clear.

It is a means of making a show of force by the presence of uniformed troops in public spaces seem normal.

When they arrive at the polls, even for the purpose of turning away voters or tampering with machines or voter registrations, it will look like just another day in Trumpamerica. It will be the death of democracy.

Meanwhile, MAGA influencers in all GOP governed states, are forcing redrawn districts, removing voters from rolls, passing voter registration limitations and ginning up their TV and internet propaganda arms all with encouragement and assistance of the guy they twice elected who will throw them under the bus the second they lose any value toward his dictatorial goals.

Plus, thanks to their passage of Trump’s magnificent meadow muffin of a tax bill, they eliminate affordable health care, nutrition assistance, Medicaid, and gold-leaf the Oval Office to Trump’s tacky tastes all to provide tax breaks for billionaires. WAKE UP, PROTEST, RESIST AND VOTE!
