Trust God to guide you on your journey
DEAR EDITOR:
Growing up, all I ever heard out of the mouth of my saintly mother was, “When bad things happen to good people, it’s God’s will.”
Let me tell you, as a child, I learned to fear God’s will, so much that my prayer life became a battle of wills (God’s and mine). I’d often remind the Lord just how stubborn I could be.
But the steps of each of us are guided by the Lord — which one of us can understand his (or her) own way? Only God knows by what way to guide us to the heavenly pastures.
Two things I thank God for: his patience with me and for not giving up on me.
I often turn down rides because now each step I take says, “I love God.”
Is it easy to walk the walk of a Christian? No!
Strange enough, I seem to smile a lot, even when I fall. God’s always there to catch me when I trip up … and even points me in the right direction.
But I still seem to ask, “Are you sure about this, Lord?”
May Charlie Kirk rest eternally in the peace of Christ.
