Those who do good often end up dead

2 min read

DEAR EDITOR:

History tells us that anyone who does good for "We the People" will be assassinated.

First, we had Jesus of Nazareth. He said feed the poor, heal the sick and those without sin cast the first stone.

Jesus didn't know it at the time -- he was a Democrat, he rode a small donkey, not a big elephant.

Somebody conspired. Sound familiar? The Romans, to crucify him, nailed him to a cross until he was dead.

In today's world, Republican Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" takes food from the poor, health care for the handicapped on Medicaid and closes rural hospitals. Not the billionaires and millionaires, they can afford to pay for their American health care and fancy foods.

Let's go back to assassinations. Abraham Lincoln freed all the black slaves to make them Americans; Malcolm X, Medgar Evers, Martin Luther King Jr., equal rights for all under the American Constitution; James R. Hoffa, Teamsters Union, affordable wages according to the total cost of living in our 2025 America.

All American workers unite and organize; join a labor union for a profitable wage, your future and your only path into the middle class.

What are you, union organizers, waiting for?
