Trump is leveling the playing field
DEAR EDITOR:
When they closed Sheet & Tube, Delphi Packard, Lordstown, Copperweld, the CEOs of these companies are the ones to protest against. Look for a label that says, “Made in the USA.” We grow cotton and export it to China, Vietnam, Turkey, Pakistan and Mexico, what tariffs were they paying? Five percent. This has been going on for decades.
These CEOs left for foreign countries because they do not have to pay health care or good wages, Trump is leveling the playing field. We used to manufacture in this country and now we have become consumers with no jobs in manufacturing!
You can not continue this way. You have to work.
The very people who are protesting buy from Amazon; they are the ones who closed the malls and stores and now we have no jobs. We rank No. 4 in steel making, China is No. 1; India and then Japan follow China. They have cheap labor. Trump is not cutting veterans benefits, Medicaid, Medicare or Social Security; he is getting rid of wasteful spending, just like families do.
When a person crosses our border illegally, they are breaking our laws, yet the Democrats gave them a driver’s license, welfare, Social Security, free housing, free medical, free food and money — your money.
This is fraud. Pay attention.
